Ricks sells just the TX for $250. It's on his web site. My guess is you need a module too, so that's another $50.

If you ask other companies might have just the TX too.

You need the 8U module

You need a module with the 8U -- it is the equivalent of the transmitter crystal, and the unit will not work without it.

The add-on memory is called a CamPac -- you do not need it. The 8U itself will store 8 models. The CamPac adds another 8, or you can use it to back up the ones in your 8U.

Yep, Walker is right the "module" is equal to a crystal...Sort of.

In actuality the Module is what the crystal plugs into. The Module allows you to take the TX to a foreign land and swap frequency bands easily. Like the US is 72Mhz and Germany is 35MHz. With a Transmitter that doesn't allow you to swap modules you would be need to replace your Transmitter. The module is a cheap way around that. Also it allows the manufacture to build an identical TX and sell it around the world without trouble.
