What is the the proper type of grease and oil to use for assembly. Is 10wt automotive oil OK? etc.

I use Tri-Flow Teflon inpregnated grease and Tri-Flow oil with Teflon for assembly and maintenance.

I also use Triflow oil and Triflow grease if it involves non metal gear boxes etc. For greasing bearings, and metal gears I have gone to Bosch Purple bearing grease. Heliproz and others carry the Triflow, check an industrial power tool supplier of Bosch tools for the purple stuff.
