Steve,

Definitely would like to see a 150t main gear for the HDX-500, but would you have to modify the frame in terms of motor mount location? I would assume with a bigger main gear that the motor and mount would have to be moved futher out compared to were it is now.? Is there any plans with RotorWorks to manufactur a carbon fiber SA frame?

I think in the future, all the frame will be switched to SA frame. With the SA frame I think we can mount the 150T main gear and any size of motors.

The frame can be FRP, silver or CF. Some sub-zero servo arms are on the work from Rotorworkz.

Hi Steve, I am so glad that you agree my suggest to switch in the future in the SA frame, like i explained many time with SA frame we can get better balancing , baric enter and also we can use many different battery pack form 4s to 6s.
About the 150 T I thinks can a good option but I am worry about the O. Diameter, I do not know how fit in, also the motor need moved to much in the front, than the baric enter will be displaced too much.
My proposition about 100T was calculated to fit into the actual SA frame but with 2 great positive point 1) bigger rapport / more pinion option 2) more T in contact / stronger transmission.
My suggest is to realize a CNC High Module Resistance Delrin main gear like micro Hely makes for the 94T. In addition, I advise you to make the new main gear with 1 mm more thickens than can use all pinion thief surface.

One other suggests.
Yesterday I tested and compare the SE tail fin, versus the SA in the end I can assure you that in retrograde fly Hely is more precise with the SA.
I guess that the motivation is for the different angle, the SE version go too much in the backside and make noise, the SA is vertical and the Hely is perfect.

In addition, the length of the SE version is not adequate with the 68 or 70 mm tail blade necessary for a 3D fly.
As you can see in my landing gear attachment, I add a 5 mm spacer in the rear attachment, this make higher tail and perfect setting to use the 68 mm blade and the SA fin.

Yesterday I was in fast 3d maneuver and I lost one tail blade (this was my fault because I bended in the car and I try to use!!!) I was so proud because the Hely start spinning like a creasy but with hold switch and autorotation the 500 landed immaculate!!!!

Sound good about the longer tail finn, like I was experimented I advise you the shape and the dimension of the actual SA (plastic) finn, but in g10 or 3k, 1.5 / 1.7 mm thikenees.

About the main gear I calculated 100T because easy to interchange without big operation, the 120T can be ok too, but the only warry is the dimension.
A part that the 120 can be maybe better because one only main gear can give a huge trasmission ratio with a available pignon range from 24 to 18.
Let me know if you make some I wll order immediately.
Hey a question, did you make and tested the head modification like the info shipped to you last week?
