Align T-REX 600N 700N > Failed aftermarket One-Way Bearings - let's hear about em!

Ok, if you have tried an aftermarket one way bearing and it failed, this is the place to share about it.

- What brand and where did you get it (please supply a link if possible)?
- How do you fly (sport, 3D, hard 3D)?
- How many flights/gallons before it failed?
- How did you use the bearing, as supplied or lubed?
- If lubed, with what?

And please share any other relevant info you may have as well. Let's see if we can't narrow down our search to the best one way made....

Thanks for your help.

Do we really need another thread on this?

Yes, we do IMHO. This is specifically about failed aftermarket one ways. If you don't want to participate - don't.

This is a cool thread, everyone is talking about the Align one-way, no one is talking about what aftermarket one-way has failed.

Where is Hootowl when we need him?

I don't know if this counts but Alan Szabo Sr.'s torrington one failed after 6 flights and it was lubed with bearing oil. I doubt he just hovers his heli around...

Btw, Torrington = NSK (as you can see the inscription in the one way)

Agree'd. Seems like the one ways are the answer, no need to spend a ton of dough on a more comprehensive solution...

i bought another align bearing, noticed the sleeve fit much tighter in it than the stock one, no lockups in 30-40 flights 3d. just a spray of triflow before i put it in.

Well, I have been using the $4 One-Ways from HeliDirect without issue. Cleaned them and bathed them in Tri-Flow and have about 12 flights on them with NO lockups or roughness. The original Align units (Ina Bearing) locked up on their first flights.

I guess I will go Boca if I have further issues but this is a cheaper option that is working well so far....

It's not a yawn if you are having lockups! They are a major PITA and can cause other issues that are hard to diagnose.

My Torrington failed after the first flight. I don't blame it on the bearing, it's the Align sleeve that is suspect.

Right now I'm running the Align upgrade kit with good results. About two gallons and a crash through it. Still working fine.

I have a LukeRC assy queued up when this one goes and I expect, due to the robust design of this unit, that it will be the last one I buy. It just looks to be built right. The key, I believe, to the LukeRC assy is it does not use the Align sleeve as the one way race. The Align sleeve is pressed into a dedicated oneway race that is integral to the oneway bearing.

I do not see the problem here; I really don't understand it.
From the very first assembly I installed the Boca one way bearing. I have over 50 flights on this heli and the last few it has really been wrung out like a rag doll; no issues whatsoever.
I did pay very special attention to how I tightened the bearing blocks down in sequence ans it took me a while. I don't know... I just hate that the machine is a snail in forward flight to what I like..

A snail in forward flight? Compared to what - a 90?

I have a venture 50 sxh ringed with a slyphide tail metal head ergo grips. Metal seesaw block trimmed for more movement and it wreckc my t rex. I am not talking just by a bit it flat out runs away from it.
I know there is alot of variables involved;I just have not found the correct setup to get my rex moving.
My modified venture chases down certain planes at the field.

Wow, that is the first time I've read of a 600N being a snail. Mine is blazing quick. Quicker than my R50 and it's fast.... The 600N is deceptively fast actually. Not a lot of weight so not as much momentum but she stops on a dime and that pirouette rate is downright scary.
