Wrap the extra around the antenna going down tward the skid plate.... then twist a 1/4 inch piece of fuel tubbing around it to the end of your antenna.... it will be very tight and no interferrence.....

It's a old racing trick for rc cars.... \

I'll post pictures in a few to show you what I mean...

If you fold the antenna wire back on itself, as suggested, you have effectively shortened the antenna to the amount left unfolded. This is not a good idea for max. reception. The best advise is to coil the antenna,if too long, for the entire length of the wire so that it does not overlap itself. Another suggestion is to cut and put a micro antenna (base loaded) on instead.

You're nutz dude. This is what Align and most responsible vendors recomend. The coil krap reduces range. Now if you were to fold the wire on itself the yes to your worry, no worrys in a tube dude. Been this way since a lockout from the coil wrap in 05. the ad on micro antenna is bad news also. You want a cheap glitch reducer? tie a not rite before the plug on the lead and insert to rx. this is a poor mans choke and it works. any other perls?

Beg to differ but do you know anything about antennas and signal induction? Also I guess that is why they sell micro antennas because they don't work. Now if you don't know how to install them properly ........

Ok fine micro for special apps or a tiny heli. I'm speaking from my exp with the thing coiled up exactly like the pic and got locked out, thats all. Had micro ant on hornets and serious probs but that may have been the electron 6 too. I like hot air thats why I'm in Florida not just talkin out my ,,, ya can't see it but by golly its there huh?

I guess, according to you, the micro antenna that I use on my Swift shouldn't work but it works fine. I presume it hasn't talked to you yet. ................ Also most antennas that are not full 1/4 wave whips are base loaded just like the micro antennas.

wrap fold...CUT

Cut the extra off you don't want. Then do a range check , if the range check fails solder the cut part back on.Cutting the wire on single conversion rx is not a good idea at all because there range is limited like 300 yards. Now on a full range rx like like Futaba or Hitec duel conversion that have like a mile range what's cutting it down to say a 1/2 mile by shorting the antenna going to hurt flying a 450 size heli you cant see past 500 feet?

I guess the manufacturers put the long antenna wire on the receiver because they have lots of it in stock.

Don't cut it or fold it. It is there for a reason and it is not just for long range reception it is for proper signal injection. There may be areas in the places that you fly that need the entire strength of the signal.

By the book

After thinking about what Dennisu said I shouldn't have recommended cutting your antenna. It works fine on my heli but there could be issues I'm not aware of.
