Alexander01 Senior Heliman Location: Sweden
| Yesterday I was unlucky enough to chop off 1 tooth from the autorotation drive together with 2 teeth of the lower gear (the one that is driven by auto gear) on front drive gear for the TT.
The strange thing is that it happened in the air, heli has approx 1,5 gallon on it. My gain value is 30, gyro is 601. I didn't do any crazy piroetting stuff on this heli, piroflips, wall of death, some snakes, tic-tocs etc, but nothing brutal yet. The tail has NEVER touched the ground.
A buddy of mine had one theory after examining the gears. He thought that too much play caused the problem. Many teeth on the smaller gear were kind of flattened on their edges, indicating too much play. But the funny thing is that it's not all the way around the smaller gear, proving that the gear is out-of-true, not perfectly round.
Any ideas are welcome!¨
Cheers!
