I was going to start out with no govenor and then add one after about 2-3 months. I bought the new 3dx fan and want to install magnets but dont have any. I noticed you can buy the gv-1 magnets online and wanted to know if they will fit properly? The holes are the same size as the align plastic one so maybe someone has tried a different fan with the gv-1 magnets? Or the plastic fan with gv-1 magnets?
Also I like the way the gv-1 sensor mounts and noticed you can buy the whole sensor for $40. Do you think a govenor would reconize which sensor is plugged in? I want to buy the ATG by curtis youngblood but want to change sensors using the gv-1?

the gv-1 sensor will not work with the CY ATG. Most of the other hall type sensor will work. If you wanna use the GV-1 sensor you have to use a gv-1 gov.
Personally, I really like my ATG. I am using it in both my birds and it works very well.

I have the 3DX fan + GV1 magnet, you need to enlarge the magnet hole a little bit for the GV1 magnet.
I'm using MultiGOV, the GV1 sensor is not compatible with MultiGov unless you do a mod on the sensor. Not sure if it works with CY's ATG or not.

Pass on the GV1 and get either a MultiGov or Youngblood ATG.
