After a complete re build, the vibration has gone.

I have moved the gyro up front.

Tightened the tail belt.

Re built the tail and re-greased the thrust bearings, all seemed OK.

At the field today the heli was very stable with no vibration, but the tail wag is still there, but not as much as before.

I am going to order the Quick UK 600 Tail Grip Assembly.

and hopfully this will sort the heli out once and for all. There are so many upgrades to purchase to get this heli sorted, its beyond belief, but I am going to stick with it as the heli should be very good once all the problems are sorted out.

The quk tail should fix it.
The mod i did was inspired by the quk tail along with logic.

Quk features 2 radials and 1 thrust bearing. Same thing only with alum grips.

Myself i wanted to go flying that weekend and didn't want to buy a quk tail as there a few $$'s and a few weeks away for me.

I might go for the kasama raptor tail then in that case...
I only have one day today to test....

hey guys would the thickness of the double sided adhesive matter for the gyro?? I notice on my other gyro, the 611 has a metal spacer...

Hi

The tape has some influence no doubt. It isn't as big as some people suggest on a high end gyro but it does make a diference. I put 5 tanks in today with my gyro on some zeal gel and I could feel the improvement.

About the tail itself... yes its the main source of all the wagging we are hearing. I modified the tail 3 times and everytime the behaviour got totaly different. I ended up putting a new tail rotor in and the machine went silken smooth. When the tail rotor arrived I compared it to my old one and the thrust bearings are a little thinner, the inner race has 10.02mm and the outer one has 9.85mm. My old tail had 10.02mm on the inner race and 10.00mm on the outer. Its a hit and miss but the tail rotor is a cheap item.

Tony
