hm... Everybody said it'd be hard to get a YS, yet when I wanted the OS, and walked into my local HS, they didn't have one but they did have a YS... Guess I got lucky then huh??

Get the fastest servo you can afford for throttle.

Get the YS if you can, but if not, the OS still rocks in this heli. I've used both in it so far.

Pearsonally I like the OS and tend to stay away from the pump version , more the complex more trouble and less flying . I like the basics that are working .

Oh what a feeling flying 3D can be

Get two!

If I had been thinking ahead I would have purchased Two OS 50 Hypers. The first one didnt work too well after it developed a hole in the top of the piston, when the glow plug vibrated out mid flight. The motor shakes so violently the only way to keep the heli together is with daily inspections and stock in locktite.

get the YS!

Parts, the're everywhere!

Get you a box full of OS's,you'll need them because they dont last long before the power drops drasticly. Or you could just buy 1 YS.

10 OS's? Man how do you treat your Hyper? Mine run long and strong. I break them in properly and they just seem to last. The rear bearing issue can be a problem but other than that the Hyper just screams and screams. Best Heli engine made IMHO.

18% Nitro, 18% oil. Cool Power Blue. Great power here on that mix.

I have had one problem with OS 50's,, I had one grenade. It was probably my fault but as per instructions I sent it in to OS they looked it over and said.. We'll replace that! Sent me a new one, and a mere week transpired between not flying and flying that airframe. I have gobbs of power in all of my Hypers, extra to spare even. Almost everyone I know is running hypers due to the power they produce. Now if we want to talk failures and lack of power. I have personally owned 7 OS 50 motors. I have friends that have owned quite a few. To date, two failures known, my grenade and one friend blew out a conrod. Now I know of three YS 50's all of which idle great, run smooth, but with so so power, they never produced it. They have the power of the stock OS50 pretty much. I am talking Hyper power requirements, that's what the world needs to be happy

Now you want to talk about 90's well then why didn't you say so.. YS all the way. But nothing in their class can touch the hyper 50's

Also, the Hyper combined with the new Align Pipe makes incredible power. I'd say close to the same as the Hyper with JK Hatori - but at a fraction of the price.

Most people run their OS 17000 RPM or greater which is way out of the power band,30% nitro will wear one out pretty fast if you fly hard.

The JK SB 50 sucks for power, try a 522 Hatori or the Align muffler. But they are a little louder.

I agree but I also see weekend warriors running 30% Nitro - hovering. With the 600N my 18% Nitro provides power to spare for what I want and I'm thrashing it pretty good these days....

I must have 'four' good ones then.
