Vario Sky Fox - Benzin - Evolution - Xtreme > Benzin Bell '47 carb mount?

Anbody know how to mount the carb on a Benzin with the Bell 47 scale body kit? I've tried every way short of surgury on the frame to get it mounted to the engine but it just looks impossible. Am I missing something here? I'm thinking about getting a spacer machined to mout the carb out side the frame. Would a spacer about 45MM long affect the way the engine runs?

If you have the older G23, it should just fit with no problem. If you are using the new G230, you have to cut off the return probe sticking down off the front of the carb, then the carb fits no problem.

No, I have the G-230 R/C. I'll take a look-see and let you know.

OK Mr. Vario, I cut off the return probe like you suggested but the only way the carb would clear the frame rail was to also remove the choke lever shaft and the choke assembly. I guess my next question is can I use the Vario air filter with choke # 1022/5 to get my choke back? I would fill in the shaft holes with RTV or JB Weld. I have been told that the 1022/5 will not fit the 47 but I don't see why not since the intake flange on the carb seems to be well clear of the frame tube. Thanks for your help. This has been a very frustrating project.

We did not have to cut off the choke arm to fit the carb. Just the return probe. I do not believe the air filter will work as it will probably foul on the lattice work. By putting your finger over the carb hole and pulling the motor over does the same thing as the choke. The other thing is that you will not need the choke because the fuel is so much higher and comes flying down the fuel line to the carb. You will need to install a inline fueler so you can keep the fuel shut off to just before starting. Otherwise you will flood the motor

Vario, I did not cut my choke arm either. I just removed the entire choke assembly. The problem is that the choke shaft ended up directly over the bottom lattice tube. A carb spacer of about 3/8 inch would be useful to retain the choke function but I don't know where I could get one. Besides, when I pulled out the choke shaft, the ball and spring retainer for the shaft fell out. I found the ball but no spring. If I can get a spacer made, I suppose I can get the lawn mower shop near me to put the choke back together. Hell, it's only money! Comforting to know, however, that the choke is not needed.
