Conversion

Fergus:

Glad to see you got your conversion up and running. My E-Shuttle (with Funkey Ranger body) conversion just passed 55 flights of glitch free performance. I assume you were not able to find another pinion. That is why I did away with the clutch assembly to save weight and installed a 9 tooth pinion. This gives me a head speed of about 1800rpm. I am still running the Neu 1907 1.5Y motor 915 KV, 6s2p A123's, CCHV45ESC, and the CC 10amp BEC. All come down cool as a cucummber. I modified the main gear to provide direct drive to the tail. My last flight came in at just over 11 min.

All my flying Buds keep asking for some flight time, which I let them all have. I expect to see a few conversions show up soon. Since I started using A123's alot of interest is brewing.

Congrats Azerty well done I see you are a fan of Quick UK as well!

Richard I was delighted with the performance of the shuttle on the stock pinion with the clutch removed so I really did not look too hard at changing the gear ratio. 8 to 9 minute flights of mild aerobatics as it is so I am happy not to change anything for now.

I have to agree about A123 though. I really like the fast charge times with the Mastech and the hassle free performance. I had the 5s lipos already so thats what i'm using.

Regards

Fergus

You can buy the lipo on revoltionshop or hobbycity is not more expensive ,which is the price for a 10s A123 ?

100 dollars plus shipping if you buy a dewalt 36volt battery and remove the 10 cells to make your own pack. Price might vary just search ebay.

They are about 200 dollars for 10s if you have them made for you by Brian at www.tanicpacks.com They only come in 2300mAh cells though so if you need greater capacity you would need to go 2p. This makes the packs heavy so its only really practical for larger helis.

Do a search here and you will find loads of info. They can be charged in 15minutes which is a great advantage (see my gallery for instructions). They are also very safe.

Regards

Fergus
