I was gonna use the JR DS 8311s still may but I'm thinking 54oz/in

may not be enough grunt for the eccpm set up on this bird or will it?

since they are sharing the load it may be enough but I don't want enough, I want plenty but not too much plenty or in other words, a hunerd a piece plenty.

had 9252s on my rappy70 but a smack into a fence left 2 stripped. I want something with a tougher gear train.

or maybe I just ought not crash

what do those of you with this control set up..... use?

thanks.

I certainly was in the right! .....( toecutter at the spot and the pit)

8311's will work good, or even the 9252's. your right the crashing is the hardest part on the servos LOL But either servo is a good match.

If you are using JR servos, the DS 8417 / 8455 are very good, metal gears as well. I have 2 Hurricans, one with the above and one with DS 8715's. These are slightly larger on the body and mean you need to trim the servo cut-out in the frames. All will give awesome performance. Use the DS8900G on the tail ...mega servo.

awesome guys!!

Naz,
saiz 54oz/ on the back of mine, could be with a 4.8v supply.
could that jump to what you say, even if it were being supplied with 6 volts?

havehelis,

thanks man a vote of confidence for the 8311s awesome!!

diamondd1968,

Imma gonna check them out. question tho, will the8900G pair up good with a 401? how does it compare to a9254?

you know guys being of lacking knowledge is terrible

I can't compare 54oz/lbs to 72 or 125, if I don't know what 54oz is, to begin with.

speaking in terms of weights and measures for dummies.

does that mean that a servo rated at 54oz can actually lift 54 oz's?
cos if thats the case, then I'm good with that, I'm all over that in fact.
that means I ain't, as thought as I dumb

You can't use JR servos on 6V as a rule, they don't like it. I recommend 5V at the tops. The 8900G is about the same as a Futaba 9256.

I am curious as to why you say that.
I would beg to differ.
We run all of our JR servos on 6 volts and have never had a problem.
Everything from the 281 up to the 8717. No problems.

Non Horizon supplied JR servos are all specced at 4.8V. They will run at higher voltages but this will reduce their life. JR in the UK recommend not more than 5.2V.

Naz!!

I hafta apologize, you'r right the 8311s are in fact 125 at 4.8 volts

the DS811s are 54 oz at 4.8v.

I had these servos stashed up in the attic and have just dug em out.
I thought they was the good ones

wow!!
the 8311s as it turns out are a mega awesome servo.

what you all think of the futaba 9451? tork suggested that.

gonna save up for a set of either of these two. have yet to check on the8417/55s.

havehelis!! you was on the money with the 8311

no worry's here concerning a 6v set up.( would be nice tho)

currently I'm at 4.8 volts guys. is all I use, and cos of a little arrival by the name of chloe.

think I 'll be using 4.8 for quite a while.

thanks for the responses fellas

Servo

Do the new JR servos 8717,s and the 8900 fit the frames without having to file the openings larger as you need to do with the Trex 600N

The new JR servos are about 2mm larger in both width and length. You need to modify the cut out in the Hurrican frames, but not the X-treme. These slightly larger servos seem to cause a bit of a problem in many different helis at the moment. Since the X-treme is new, the larger servo has been accommodated in the design.
