I think i want one but i want to know if it will work with the motor i already have. I have a eflight 370 brushless, will this push this heli? I'm basicly gonna take the stuff out of my blade cp and stick it into the shogun. How does it fly. I have a trex 450se but i need somthing smaller to fly in the small park by my work. Also i have the original motor from my trex its a 3550 kv but i think this will be too big, and won't work with my 25 amp esc. Please help!

When in doubt... Punch out

First, I have to say the shogun is not a whole lot smaller than your trex and would take up as much sky as that heli.

The eflite 370 inrunner (if that is the one you have) would probably fly it, but IMHO is a bit on the small side. the 370 outrunner would not.

as for 3d I don't fly any, but the shogun in the right hands could probably 3d. How well however is the question. Of all my helis the shogun is the "cadillac"....... a smooth stable bird that I personally cannot get to fly as aggressive as some of the others.

I enjoy the way it flies, but it is just not that agressive.

Your trex motor would probably be the better choice and as for the 25 amp ESC I fly a 20 amp eflite without problem. the shogun doesn't haul that much current I've found and I fly a hacker b20-15L on mine.

just my 2 cents and experience with the shogun.

Shogun

I am with astroflyer on this one.... I have an original Shogun that I did the belt conversion to the tail and it has flown great since that addition.... It is NOT a 3D heli, but it is a smooth flier and a lot of fun... Check out the "little" Jet Ranger at Just Go Fly... still have the mechanics and plan on a new fuse for this season...

I have a zoom pro, all carbon and metal head and tail, hacker motor etc real hot little thing, I also have a t-rex 450se and a standard zoom v1. the zoom pro will do everything the t-rexse will, its about 10% behind in performance in my opiion, but the zoom pro is an expensive kit really. the standard zoom/shogun can be aerobatic on pretty much any brushless set up but not 3D. People seem to think of 3D as aerobatic, but only a good heli with a good set up will do proper 3D stuff, most will do all the aerobatics, inverted hovering rolls and flips etc but thats not quite 3D, but if you just want to do that...loops stall turns maybe a bit of inverted, the zoom/shogun can and will do it if set up properly, But astoflyers right, the zoom/shogun will take up just as much sky as a t-rex, and if only for that reason your buying one, get a t-rex 450x with ccpm, little bit more expensive but offer better performance for similar money.

If you do the right upgrades so that your zoom has as much CNC and CF as a 450se TRex, add a TH450 from JGF and you'll have a 3D heli that flies tighter 3D than the 450se. It will be 100grams lighter allowing for High capabilities with 3S packs that the Trex will need 4S to match.

Will your shogun setup like this be cheaper than a Trex se? No! More like 3 times as much! I like having something different & competitive at the field though.

Years ago I was a BIG Shogun fan and rightly so as I found at the time it was the best overall mini heli around,,,better than the Align,. The first generation Align was crude as was the Shogun. BUT Align did alot of RD and listened to customers while th Shogun guys did not. It is a pity but they blew it in my mind. A TREX will fly vry nicely WITHOUT upgrades. The upgrades of the Shogu to make it fly correctly drove me nuts,,,and why were they made by a different company? Good Grief
\Do not buy a Shogun,,,,,,,,my opinion only.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly better than I can pilot them

MINI ZOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished popping a "mini" together and testing it.... WOW what a fun heli.....
I still have my originals Shogun and it still flies like the day that I put it together... not a rex, but once I added the belt driven tail, it has not had so much as one screw come loose in 3 seasons, and I am putting a fresh fuselage on it for this up coming indoor season.... if you are looking for a "cruiser" the V2 will fit the bill and you won't have a lot of $$'s in it.... if you want a 3D heli that is ballistic, not the right machine... (but I think the mini is going to out fly the rex!!!! Still in set up stages, but we will see how that goes!!!)
