I have been considering getting one of these heli's for a training aid and just for fun. Any comments on comparing the flying characteristics of these two heli's
Thanks

I have a Hoverfly II and it is awesome. It flies great and is perfect for learning to hover or like me learning nose in hovering or just to have something to do during these cold winter days. The controls are very touchy, but if you have a radio that has exponential you can soften it up. The tail gyro is great. You can fly it for hours at a time with no problem. I have a friend that has a Llama. It doen't have the tail authority because it doesn't have a seperate tail motor. The motor overheats after flying for a while. When it overheats it changes the rpm's and that changes the blade speeds and that changes the yaw, so you are constantly compensating for that. It looks great and comes with the control, but that is all it has on the Hoverfly II. If you are interested I am about to sell my Hoverfly II.

Thanks Gary , that answers the question.
I'm in Canada and am going to the UK in a couple of weeks so was planning to perhaps pick one up then. Will let you know if I decide to get a used one.
Thanks again

Bobby,
I only have a hoverfly (and some glows) so I can only pass comment on that, put simply its flys great is lots of fun and its kinda funny when you've been flying a glow bird in the morning when you crash the lil hoverfly into the telly and dont see £ (or$) flash before your eyes!

The only thing I find with it, is the cyclic response is a little weird, I dont quite know how to describe it but if the bird is already pitching at some angle or another its much more difficult (relatively speaking) to return it to straight and level than it was to get it there in the first place.

This really is minor criticism, get your LHS to demo you one you'll defintly get one.

Make sure you use a radio TX though, dont get the propriatry controller its pants!

Cheers
Dave
