I was at the LHS today and seen the new G2 that's coming out soon. It has a new USB controller that can also be used as a interface also. Either use the controller that comes with the new version or you can plug your radio into the controller and use it as a interface for your radio. Very cool! Plus the added feature of USB. Nice advancement.

I'm not sure what the price will end up at. I seen three versions though. One will be a upgrade from G2 to the G2 USB. Another will be the new G2 with USB and also they are going to release a G2 Lite. It's a downsized software version of G2 at a reduced price.

G-2 Interface?

That sounds like an answer to my G-2/printer problems. Every time(almost) that I plug in my TX to do some simming my printer snaps to life and trys to "print from PC" -A ROYAL p.i.t.a. If I can separte the printer and not use the pass-through from G-2 then that should fix that. My PC has 6 USB ports and that's not enough! Two on the back,two on the front and two on the keyboard.

Problem is, in their wisdom??? HP Pavilion has USB connectors on the keyboard and mouse! There goes the two connectors on the back. I didn't want cables hanging from the front of my PC, so I got a hub.

I wonder if G-2 (with the "new" USB) cable will run through the hub? I also have a scanner that will not work through the hub. So in effect I'm still out of USB ports???

I had the same problem, every time I got ready to fly my printer would fire up and just sit there with the lights flashing and doing nothing. I would also get rudder glitches. I switched my printer over to USB and only have my interface plugged into the parallel port now and the glitches have totally gone away and the printer stays quiet. I told the dealer to order me the upgrade from G2 to G2 USB. I'll be a test pilot.

Hey guys you can also go here www.usbcable.com and purchase part#(47-1932) USB Joystick Converter and run it in usb and not have to deal with the lpt passthru connector.The cost isv$26.95 USD that would be a whole lot cheaper than a new box

Ya, it's a hoot when you fire up the sim,then suddenly your printer is fueled and ready to go Only trouble is-I can't get my printer into idle-up or fly inverted!! LOL --------BladeRunner.

I'm using the Radio Shack game port to USB adapter #26-164 on my system (XP Home/G2).

Set the switch to " wheel".

Radio Shack - to Wheel

Hey dave - are you using the dummy controller on the R Shack USB adapter??? I have been trying to get mine set up on my laptop so I can use it on the road... Dell Latitude 600 (PIII800) running Win2000 Pro with USB.
02-03 am - WOWI finally got it to run on the lap top using the radio shack converter set to wheel and updating to ver 386. Plus I had to modify the RealFlight ini file to show the controller to =1 instead of =-1
