Align T-REX 600N 700N > Canopy mounting inconsistency

The fiberglass on the canopy in the kit is very thick and has minor cracks through the canopy "glass". I ordered a replacement, what I got is considerably thinner (114 vs 156 grams) and even though it's more flexible, I can't get it mounted on the heli adequately.

The issue:
Either the rear mounting holes are futher forward on the replacement canopy, or the front mounting clip is further back. There's about 3/4 inch difference in where the replacement canopy's mounting holes are.

I was able to contort the canopy and just get it mounted (with the narrower 3DX mounts - never would have gotten it on the stock mounting posts), but doing so pulls the sides of the canopy in so much that the throttle linkage hits the inside of the canopy.

I'm hesitant to drill another set of rear mounting holes in the frame, but also concerned that returning the new canopy to exchange for another will present the same issue.

Has anyone else encountered inconsistencies? I've noted that some have drilled additional mounting holes higher and further forward - I believe to provide servo clearance.

If you've encountered a similar problem with canopy mounting, please share how you resolved this.
Exchange the canopy for another?
Drill another set of holes in the frame?
Grind or cut the front, underneath side of the canopy to move the clip forward?

My only complaint is I hurt my fingers trying to get the clip off under the body

I thought it was just me!

I figured out how to get it off by hooking my finger on the back side of it and pulling down and toward the front at the same time.

I thought I was so clever until I took the skin off my knuckle last Sunday. When the clip came off, I caught the concrete beneath with my knuckle.

...and I need that finger to drive southern CA freeways!

I just fitted the gyro mount to my 600N Pro.
It also came with an inter-frame aluminium spacer and the black plastic canopy standoffs;

The new standoffs were shorter than those supplied in the kit.
Makes the canopy fit a bit easier, it was very splayed apart before.

I LOVE this heli.

As mentioned, I have the 3DX posts which are much narrower than stock. Though I haven't measured, I believe they're even shorter than the replacement standoffs that came with the gyro plate.

Though the overall width affects how much the canopy will flex, the specific issue I encountered is that the distance between the front clip and rear mounting holes on the replacement canopy is 3/4" less than the canopy that came with the kit.

I ended up returning the canopy that didn't fit right.

In purchasing a replacement, I've found a pattern. Inside the canopies I've checked (2 white and 4 red), there is a blue stamped number, either "02" or "03".

Those stamped with the "02" are lighter with thinner fiberglass and don't fit without drilling new holes in the frame or modifying the canopy to move the front clip forward. Those I've checked stamped with "03" on the insde are heavier and fit the heli well.

You need to move the front clip forward towards the nose. cut a new groove. I had the same problem with a plastic canopy.
