Hi Guys, Well I just came across a deal that was hard to resist. I never flown a copter before (used to fly planks) but I have made a purchase for a Raptor 30 w/os 32
and a Airtronics RD6000. All this plus all flight accesories for very little money! http://www.runryder.com/img/smilies/biggrin.gif
I like the heli, not thrilled with the radio and I'm not sure of the "century gyro". The radio has the cheap servos (no ball bearings) and after doing some research, the radio/servos can be bought for about $229.
I would like the Futaba 9HP with the 9001, I would like the Futaba 401 and futaba digital servo and I would like a million dollars while we are at it!
Untill I can hover on the simulator, I don't plan on flying this by myself. AND I WILL NOT FLY UNLESS SOMEONE EXPERIENCED CHECKS THE BIRD FIRST!!http://www.runryder.com/img/smilies/biggrin.gif
Should I make the purchase for the other equipment, or quit whining and just use the system as is? In other words is it worth getting the http://www.runryder.com/img/smilies/confused.gif equipment I think I need.

I would say you are on the right track, use a sim and you will be able to learn to fly on what you have. Chances are, if you are like me or lots of others I know, you will dork it several times anyway. Save the money you were going to spend on the other stuff and buy what you want after you fly it long enough to KNOW what you want, not what you THINK you want. Make sure to have someone check it out before you try to fly it.
