Main Discussion > Advice on Futura SE paddles please.

I am currently using the stock paddles (creamy white colour) on my Futura SE, and I'm wondering if you more experienced fliers could give me a comparison on the stock paddles vs. other paddles known to be good. Do you have any recommendations ??

I think the heli is quite "twitchy" in FFF, and at the same time I don't think it is really quick in roll and flip.

I have removed the flybar weights completely, headspeed around 1850 and use 10% expo.

Thanks in advance

I took the flybar weights off completely, and was still after a better response so moved to the Vario ones - much better

I have heard people say that they have shortened the flybar and re-threaded it to give a 'crisper' response but haven't tried that one yet.

My Futura doesn't see much action now I've got my ThreeDeeNT

Cheers
Richard.

V-Blade Paddles

Howdy!!!
I have used the V-blade paddles and they are great!!! I would say they have the response of the grey KSJ's without the annoying twitching and FFF pitching. A little pricey at $30, but they appear very stout (for carbon) and they are super easy to adjust via their set screw lockdown system.. I always hated adjusting KSJ's and other plastics, since they are kinda of "grabby" and always seem to move a little past the place you want them to be..

Argue for your limitations and sure enough, they're yours

Yup,

They are the best. I'm using a set on my Milli II after chucking the stock purple paddles. They have the same roll rate (or better) without the twitchyness in the hover and FFF. Well worth the price.

They ARE NOT stout though. One ground strike and they are toast, unlike the solid plastic paddles that last forever.

For a long time I always changed the stock paddles out with Xcell Pro II paddles. I would assemble them with no weight. I really liked the way they flew. They tracked great and were pretty responsive. For $45 bucks, they should be good...right!

Then Vic came out with V paddles. Now that's about all I use. They track like Pro II paddles, but are as responsive as the KSJs. $30 isn't cheap, but they're a lot less than the SAB paddles, and work just as good.

I've crashed a few times and haven't broken a set yet. Maybe I'm lucky. I'd say that anything is subject to breakage in a crash, but these paddles are not fragile. Some of mine are pretty battered up, but still flyable.

Try 'em, you'll like 'em.

Paddles

Yhank you all very much for the replies.

I ordered a set of V-blades and paddles from Vic just before christmas, but when the packege arrived only the blades was in it, and I was only billed for the bledes. That may be just as good since the Norwegian customs added another $40 to the already steep price.

I have heard that stock Freya paddles are very good, and may give them a try. Atleast I can get them in Norway.

Thanks again

I've got the Freya paddles on both my SE's...they fly great and allow me to to play with different weight main blade/flybar paddle combos ( I like heavy blades and large light flybar paddles) at the field! The 3mm grub screw insert is a little soft and will strip if tightened too much, but they fly smoothly and don't cost much! I haven't crash tested them yet...sorry! I got mine from that guy down in Corpus Christi...don't remember his name right off..... Chris

I may have to try some of vic's paddles too. I have used pro2's for a good while now and like them but I would like to have faster and better response too.
