Wooooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Mandy SOLO'd today!! How cool is that!

We did 2 flights buddy boxing, and I even set it up for her to try out the brand new Trex Sport, so she got 1 flight on that. Then on her 3rd flight with the Hurrican, she went solo!

She was very nervous, but stuck to her normal routine, flew some really nice FFF figure 8's, came down and landed it, and shook off the nervousness. Then she went up a second time to finish off the tank, and she even threw in a few piros!

Everybody clapped for her when she was done. It was really cool!

OK - Latest update!

Not only is she doing cleaner turns and figure 8’s than the rest of us lazy pilots, but she is doing flips, stationary rolls, and now FFF rolls, all solo!

But more importantly than that, she can now screw up and save it! Before, when we were buddy boxing, she would panic and scream and I would take over even the simplest mistake. But in the past several weeks, I have seen her save at least 2 very potential crashes! She even got a well deserved “Nice Save!” from one of our fellow pilots who witnessed one of these!

She has also been practicing a ½ Cuban 8 on the sim and she is ready to try it on her Hurrican 50!

And to add icing on the cake, she even did flips and rolls with her little, much less stable Trex 450 this week.

OK - more bragging for Mandy's flying skills!

She added Stall Turns and Loops to her resume this weekend. She started with some ugly stall turns while we were buddy boxing, including one I had to save that woke everyone in the pits up and got their attention, and by the end of the weekend she was doing much cleaner stall turns solo.

She also did her first loops which was a major milestone for her because she had a lot of trouble with these on the sim and would constantly crash. But she flew many many successful loops over the weekend, including solo.

On Sunday, she did a flight that combined all of her tricks. She is really enjoying flying now!
