Hi,

I am trying to replace my Pred's boom but the cylindric plastic bearing holders from my torque tube (which survived from my last crash) do not fit inside this new boom!!! And I haven't even reached the o-rings!

What's going on with tolerances?

There seems to be two different types of bearing supports for the Pred???? I can see the ones on this TT are machined differently than the ones on my gasser, which seem thinner.

Hi,

There is two types of boom to Predator. HD and "standard".

You have got the HD boom and the standard TT.

You need to put the plastic holder in a drill and sand them down and change to smaller o-rings, or order a new boom or TT.

Nope... both are standard.

Thanks for the thought, though...

Anyways, one of the supports can't be taken off since it hits the other bearing... unless I remove one of the ends...

Well, then you have got misslabeled stuff. There IS two version of it...

Buy a new TT, it will fix the problem.

Not so. If the TT won't fit then it has to be the boom. There are 2 types of boom, but only one TT. The only change for the TT are the o-rings, but you find the plastic bearing holders don't fit (As mentioned) and you have to sand these down.

Do you have a dremel? Take the sanding bit and remove the band. This leaves a rubber wheel. Run the dremel at a relatively low speed and use the rubber wheel to spin the bearing holder on the TT. Then get some medium emery paper to reduce the diameter. I used 180 grade. Take it slow and check the fit. It's important that you test the holder with the bearing in as I found it compresses otherwise.

No prob. I found the best method is to remove the o-rings and hold the bit at a slight angle between their positions. It's not too critical if you take more off than planned, but be sure it's even all round.

I have a frend who is rebuild predator with a tt and it will not go into the tube is it possible to get the wrong tube he say it may have had carbon fiber tube on it at one time he has 2 tt one with one bearing and one with 2 bearings and neather will fit the boom.what gives have you guys had this problem be fore and maybe he just got some mislabled parts.I told him what you guys posted about using the dremal to make it work. what is the right answer?
