LOL...
I think I wore mine out this weekend
I did get a couple hours on the SIM this weekend, and I decided to change the way I held the receiver, after watching a couple guys fly. Using my index fingers and thumbs to control it while on the SIM. Wow, what a difference did that make! So much easier.....because you have more control.

Hey thats great that you have everyone encouraging you. Go for it!!
And I haven't met a female pilot in my area yet either. I'm sure I will though....in time.

Hope you guys had a great weekend!!

Yeah, my boyfriend taught me to "pinch" the sticks with my finger and thumb too. I agree you do have more control that way.

LOL,

I wouldn't think so I would say that any couple that can share this hobby/addiction is a good thing. You don't see that too often, and besides a little competative edge never hurt anyone.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me on the forums.

Went down to Atlantic City this past weekend, really had a great time. I got to see Szabo, Kammerer, and Justin fly up close.....all i can say is that they are all truly amazing. I think I enjoyed watching Justin fly the most, jeez 5 years old....I couldn't believe it!!

Definitely good times!!

Hey freeky....wheres my 450???? Its Thursday slacker. =)

You'll find you eventually get a handel on the simm.

I learned the old fashion way, on the field. Show some interest and buy your owh chopper then you don't have to worry about crashing his.

My husband and I got into the heli hobby together and after a year of us sharing the heli and him always crashing it on me I told him to buy his own and leave mine alone. I fixed mine up and that was 4 years ago. This is the first year I have crashed (twice). But I am starting forward flight. I also don't like the simm. After learning so far on my own I don't feel like the simm is real. I hit the rest every 15 sec and have trouble even hovering on the damm thing. I don't care how long it takes me to learn forward flight but I would rather do it in the field then on that simm. If I had started on the simm I think I would not be in the hobby today.

I've almost thrown my controler at the TV at least 10 times. I thought it was maybe the way ours was set up, but then when we were at a fun fly last month we went over to a fellow pilots house and I tried their simm. I don't think I lasted 2 min befor I opted to quite and have a beer instead. Alot less frustrated out on the field then on that simm.

KICK THE GUYS OFF THE FIELD THAT THE WAY A WOMAN FLYS......

Yeah, I agree I like flying the real thing more. I am hoping this fall to buy a different heli, my CX2 is only good for indoor flying or when there is absolutley no wind. I am thinking of going to an electric T-Rex next.

I've flown only the Raptors, Good Choppers, Cheaper to repair then some of the others, although I hear that the T-Rex is also a good Chopper and affordable parts. I won a Mini Titan this summer at a fun fly. We've just got it up an running. Very Easy to build and really cool to fly. Can handle the Alberta winds.

My boyfirend has a Raptor 50 & 90 and he likes them both. He just got his new T Rex 650 up and going and is really impressed with it. I am just not sure which heli I want next. I know that our local hobby shop has parts for the smaller T Rex usually in stock, so maybe that will be the way go. Plus his is electric (only the small T Rex) so I can maybe move up this winter with the indoor flying. I would like to learn forward flight, but I don't feel confident enough with my hoovering yet to try that. Maybe one of theses days

only trex indoors if..

you have a good amount of space.. don't try it in a living room or such.. garage... barn... fieldhouse or gym will work ok.

You will hit something for sure if you do it in your house.

If you don't have that kind of space.. then get a rappy for the summer

In life there is no spacebar!

I definatley agree - I only fly the Blade CX in the house. If we go indoor flying it is @ an indoor roller hockey rink or in an air plane hanger. I am not sure if I am confident enough to even try the T Rex - even with landing gear. But I want to by summer - I don't want to keep going to the fly-ins and just sit and watch any more

Flying's going fine at the moment thanks! My Raptor is dumping a bit of fuel around the front of its engine, but she flies great.

Sorry the ladies haven't posted any replies to ya!

Tach.
