I just received the new Gaui EP150 heli. It is a new designed EP100 CF frame with stretched tail. It comes with 200mm constant chord symetrical wood blades.

As it comes, it is designed to fly with 2s 800mah packs. After IRCHA, I will look at reducing the pinion and go with 3s 700-900mah pack.

I am hopeful that it will fly as well (if not better) than Kyle Stacy's modified Blade CP.

We got it the day before IRCHA and managed to put it together with AR6100 receiver. During the hover test, it just rolled over on its side and crashed. The damage was minor but still trying to figure out what caused to receiver to reset. I tested without the blades in my hand and the receiver kept resetting. I then replaced the receiver and it was doing the same thing. My guess now is that the ESC's BEC portion was not providing good voltage to the receiver. I will have to swap it out and test it again.

As for the hover comment, it felt light and has gobs of potential. It comes with a FG painted canopy that weighs 30g and thought that it can use a lighter canopy.

Is the ep150 a complete kit or did you do the separate frame and canopy upgrade from a Pro? All I can find is the the pro, then you have to buy the new canopy and frame as a separate upgrade.

I know that the frame is the new v2 version. Our pre production unit came with the canopy and the tail already stretched and with the longer 200mm blade. It is going to be called EP150. It may not have made it over here yet. Give it some time.

I am having some AR6100 receiver resetting issues at the moment. I swapped out the receiver, ESC but still locking out and crashed 5 times out of 5 hovers.

But the little I got to fly looks promising. I will eventually figure out the cause of the lockout and hope to continue testing it.

Reset

My AR6100 was a problem until I found out my ESC had a loose plug where it adjoins to the pin of the receiver.

I pulled all 3 and tested them one at a time to find out which one was loose.

Now I have NO reset problems.

As far as I know it is a Hurricane 200. It was supposed to be named the EP-150, but later it was changed to EP-200. The manual states "Hurricane 200 - EP200".

It is a bit confusing. You can buy the heli but Gaui has not updates there own website. But it doesn't matter anyway, Hurricane 200 is fine.

Justin, I hope to see some/a movie(s) of your flight(s).
