Yesterday I received my E-Smart 600 (really dislike that name). One word - awesome! The kit quality is fantastic - except for where I had to enlarge 4 holes (on the bottom plate) to mount the landing gear and the same for the collar at the bottom of the main shaft that the jesus bolt goes through (used a 5/32 bit on both).

Beside those points I think there are some mistakes specifying which rod lengths go where - so when I maiden her I'll find out if my estimations were correct.

Once again, I love this thing. It's HUGE. I'm attaching some pics from my build for reference (since I'm moving up to 600-size helis my only frame of reference is the 450-size T-Rex). I'm still awating my ESC, BEC, RX and batteries. Overall, the build went VERY smoothly (my smoothest yet). I like the tail design because I can now very quickly adjust belt tension. I also like the fact that removing the boom keeps the belt tension intact due to the design.



I purchased mine from HeliDirect (located in MA) on Tues. and it arrived in San Diego on Sat. (free shipping). E-sky has put themselves into the big leagues with a really high-quality 600. I've never been personally interested in their products but thought I'd take a chance on this heli since I liked the specs and it wasn't a large financial risk.

I love i when a gamble pays off. Looking forward to the maiden flight (I've read some very positive reviews on the flight performance).

This heli uses std. size servos for its size (i.e. the same ones that fit in a T-Rex 600 approx. 40mm x 20mm x 37mm).

Yes, this is CCPM.

At a minimum, you can use 5S2P 3700mAh. I would recommend 6S2P 3700mAh (as a starting point). You'll most-likely want a 20C rating (I use that for all my helis - it's safe for batteries even if you're mildly aggressive with your flying sytyle). For hovering and precision/scale 15C has worked out very well for me (i.e. no excessive heat or puffing of batteries).

This heli is very similar to the Swift, same size. I flew mine for the first time yesterday and love it, LOTS of power for a stock motor and lots of jam for hard 3D, 100% can't beat it for the price! I use TPX 3850mah 6S-1P packs and put back 2660mah back in after a 5min full throttle flight. Pack is just warm to the touch as is the motor. 5000mah 6S-1P would also work very nice. 80A ESC is a must.... I burnt up a 60! We have to get more of these in the air!

That's awesome news on your flight experience with this heli!

Interesting note on the ESC - someone else that is flying this heli just burned up a Sonix 60A Opto ESC. Everyone that's flying 80A and higher is doing great. I think another guy is running an Align 75A - I run an Align 100A ESC.

Cool finding you all over the place! I spent 30 minutes today @ a LHS in San Diego and the owner has committed to reselling the E600. He's good friends with the folks at BPHobbies so he's going to resell through them (I believe they're the current exclusive U.S. distro).

Today I ALSO cracked the T-Rex tail case that I fit on the heli today. I'm wondering if the torque with the larger blades and t/r speed is creating excessive torsional stress???

The (obvious) consensus, locally, is that it's something that I'm doing that is breaking them. Well, the metal tail case ought to relieve me of this affliction

Yeah, I spen way too much time on the computer... thats what my wife tells me anyway! Very strange you are breaking the cases... something must be wrong somewhere. I can see the stock case breaking but a Rex case? If that case can stand up to a Rex in full hard 3D all day it should be overkill for this machine. I don't think the main blades would cause that. Is your belt tight? Do you have vibes? Where did the Rex case crack?

You know what - that last break was my fault. I tend to make mods to different things and I thinned out the case right along the "fault line" . The crack followed the dremel work that I had done. I'm picking up another TRex 600 tail case and having another go at it later this evening - without the modeification.

It will be frustrating because I won't actually get to my house until about 8pm (dark outside). Won't be able to test the change until tomorrow evening. Oh well...
