| Received my Hurricane 550 yesterday. The build was a breeze compared to some kits I have built in the past. Probably took a little longer due to changing out the ball links on the heli. I had read some of the concerns by others in regards to safety, and the lack of thread engagement using the Gaui screws. Man were they right!
Well on to the matter at hand. I purchased the basic kit with the 800kv motor, and ESC included. Well to my dismay , after finishing the build, and connecting the power, the darn ESC won't fire up. No confirmation tones, nothing. Checked my input voltage and am getting 22v+ from my 2 TP 2100 packs. I'm sure the folk's that I bought it through will make good on replacing the ESC. But, now that I have gotten this far, and the fact that I'm way to impatient to wait for a replacement ESC to arrive, I am thinking of running to LHS to pick up a ESC.
My question is this: The stock Gaui ESC is 50a, I know my LHS has 60a, and 75a. Being that I want to plan for the future of maybe a 1500kv motor, and 2-3300 mah packs which ESC amperage should I go for. And the more important question, will it work OK with my current setup? |
