Align T-REX 600N 700N > Purchased my first (and last) Align main blades today.

Got to the field, switched out my trusty SAB's. Took forever to get them tracking correctly (new Align Carbon Fiber blades). After I got them tracking I lifted off and they were so out of balance it looked like my poor trex was going to implode. I've been flying Radix and SAB's for over a year with none of them out of balance. I hope I can trade these back in for something, anything else. Is this typical of Align main blades or am I the exception? (I'm betting I'm not the exception). I would like to hear back from average flyers, not Align retailers or team pilots. I know what you guys will say, lol.

hmm... most of the test flights of the 600N were done with align blades... they seemed to perform pretty well from what I have watched...

But Honey, I can't live with just stock.....

I have a set and have seen several other sets. It seems to hit or miss. The ones that were out were not out too bad, though.

ok, I'll balance them and give them a try. But I still haven't had any Radix or other brands out of balance in a long time. I'm trusting you all here.

Are these the 600B blades or the 600A ?

I ran across a few sets of 600B's that had a very minor bow in one blades trailing edge. I opened a few boxes and was able to find a straight set. They fly just fine, tracking was only one turn on a link and it was good.

It's possible this was a batch related issue. Time will tell. They are very light, 120g. for the set I had.

Yep, 600b's. So if they are bowed can that be fixed/balanced?

Haven't tried the B's. The A's I put on tracked perfectly, were dead smooth. Balanced nicely. I thought they were a decent all round blade. Pretty good value. Like Radix or V's better.

I have this exact same problem, the blades were balanced but it was impossible to get the heli to track. Put a set of Radix on the heli and no problem. These blades are going back to Align.

I dont think you could get the bow out of them without making matters worse.

I would contact AlignRCUSA and see what they will do for you. Even with the bow, I was able to get mine to track. One turn on the blade link fixed it.

I have the Align 600A Carbon Fiber blades. These were within 1/10th of a gram of each other in weight and CGs were dead on with each other.

Bolted them on and flew - tracking was perfect. Very nice blades.

seems like I should have got the "A's". I'm contacting Align about them now. I'll let you know how their customer service is.

I have only flown the 600As and they are always spot on, so much so that I don't even check the balance. Just put them on and fly. I have not had any problems with them balancing except when using 2 orphan blades. And I have owned more than 10 pairs of the 600As. (What can I say? I either fly a lot or crash a lot or both)

I bought a pair of 'B's that came with a nick in the leading edge. I exchanged them for another pair. This had apparent sanding and indentation on the trailing edge on one blade. So I exchanged for 'A's that flew very well. The 'A's seem to have higher quality finish, and are packaged better with foam instead of a plastic bag.

I have Align white tails. They don't look to good. They look like they were touch up painted.

I think balancing the blades is part of the manufactuting process. Wood blades i can see not balancing but all GOOD carbon blades come balanced.

I agree, and I havent tried Aligns blades but from what I've seen on the field, they're not to good. One friend couldnt get his 600n to track like some others have mentioned. Not one turn , I mean one turn ok , better , one half turn , out the Other way!! It was driving him nuts! The other experience is the tail blades. A buddy gave them to me , said they flew fine. Hootowl was looking at them and noticed the warp , leading and trailing. Just one of them. They are in the field box just in case,,, but not gonna use em till I have to.

And they are $80. If they were $49 I would expect some balance issues. Not for the price they are asking.
