One year, probably well over 100 flights, and other than a couple lock ups in the first dozen flights, my one way is running smooth. Never lubed.

I stripped my bearings of grease and used Tri-Flow. I haven't fired mine up yet but should I be using lithium grease?

I tried to read through all the posts but seems people are doing both with success. I just got a 600NSP by the way.

Thanks

220 flights on my original one way using nothing but tri flow, no lock ups yet.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Since installing the Boca one-way bearing, I've been really enjoying zero lock ups and really fun autos.

Original one way that came with my trex last may, after 300+flights is still in perfect condition. Knock on wood. All I have ever done is drip tri-flow into it.

Two locked bearings. The first was built to kit spec and locked once and I was able to free it and lube with Tri Flo. The second I just purchased and because there was grease on it, I just threw it in there figuring this was the replacement bearing(not the kit). Locked after 5 flights. I am thinking I will try to unseize it, but I think I am going to order the boca as I started to do when the first locked up on me. It is a bit more expensive, but as long as it's a quality bearing, it is well worth the little extra for it..

I fly light aeros' also(backwards inverted, rolls, flips, and light piro manuevers). I have had about 6 machines and this is the first I have ever had an issue. Given, I love my 600N but this is a bit of a bummer. But then again, nothing is perfect on any helicopter...

Man.... I had no idea what an addiction this was going to be.....

Cure for one way

I got one of these one way bearings[url=http://www.lukerc.com/trex_600]
a while back have maybe 20 flights on mine and NO problems.
I have a flying buddy who has about 100 flights on his.
We had issues after only 5-10 flights with the stock.
Its a copy of the avant style one way I don't think you would ever have a problem. And its VERY smooth. The way it should have been from the start.
Try it out.

I know someone who broke one of those (the bearing itself). Worst part is that LukeRC isn't selling replacement bearings so the only fix is to buy another one... not a good deal

I have two Trex 600Ns now. I had my first lock up with my forst machine after 20 flights. I was not locked up that bad. I put some tri flow oil in the bearing and it lasted Almost a year. It just locked up again. I could not unlock it. When i pulled it apart the plastic cage was cracked and only one set of rollers was damaged. This kit is one of the older ones with out the updated bearing. I have replaced the bearing with the updated one way. I will let you know how it dose.

My second kit is newer and has the new one way in it. So far 15 flights and no lock up. I am using the Align one way grease that came wit the kit.

tchavei this is the same bearing used by larger 90 sized helis I would think breaking it would, short of crash damage, be VERY Hard.
It's far stronger than any trex type. It is the strongest you can put in a trex!
Yes would be very hard to replace the bearing as it would be in a avant or stratus.
Still the best 60 bucks I have spent on the trex.

Thanks for the response on the Luke bearing. I will probably order one but try to unlock the one on the machine until the Luke comes in. I am sort of torn between the luke and the Boca. I will just have to decide as for me, this is the only issue I have really faced thus far.

Man.... I had no idea what an addiction this was going to be.....

Andy: Like I said, this is hear-say. I don't know if it locked up in flight or after a crash but replacement was impossible. I'll try to get Forrestgump over here to comment (It has happen to him)

Yeah it happened to me, no previous locks-up no sign of wear or failure and then one day you start the helicopter and it doesn't engage.

Talked to LukeRC and he said that had some previous report of failures and decided to stop selling them. No replacement bearings either

Best way to predict the future, is to Invent it.

If your having problems I would suggest getting in touch with him.

Folks,

I don't want to get into any discussion and it has not been me who has brought this issue to the forum, but:

You're right Antonio. I did bring up this regarding to Andy17's "cure" for the one way lockup. Just wanted to alert that it isn't 100% bulletproof giving you as an example. Lets stop it here.
