This "new" one-way locked up on the second flight. It is supposed to prevent lock ups? In what time dimension??

Finally lost my one-way. It was erratic. Installed the LukeRC unit yesterday. I probably had 4 gallons or so through the "Upgraded" Align unit.

I'm still on the oringinal "old" style stock one way and have never had a lock up. 191 flights and 29 hours of use and it's still working fine. How many gallons would that be...must be around 20 I suppose.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

So what have you done for maintenance of the one-way? And how hard do you fly the heli, and at what head speed? Thanks.

If you fly hard with zero maintenance, then you are very fortunate.

For maintenance I anoint the bearing with a drop or two of tri flow when I have the main shaft out. So, I've probably lubed it 3 times. Headspeed, I try to keep it around 1950 or so. Do I fly hard, that's so subjective. I like to think I do, I'm certainly no one you'd be impressed by but I try. I have a video from months ago when my heli was new in my gallery that might give you an idea but I've made progress since then.

As for being fortunate, I don't think so. I just don't have the problems you read so much about on forums whether it be static issues, one ways, swash plates, etc. I've said it before and it should be painfully obvious but if you read about any problem on a forum it will quickly appear to be widespread even if only one person on the planet has the problem. Doesn't take any time at all before people jump on the preventive bandwagon. Not saying people haven't had problems with the oneway maybe more than they should've but the majority haven't had any problems. The preceding was IMO

Hootowl: you didn't overtight the lower jesus bolt while you were rebuilding the bird? The one way sleeve could have been damaged during the crash too...

I'm still on my original (but full of spares at home) and that thing didn't locked yet but I'm pretty anal about the lower jesus bolt and I lubed it twice with lithium grease (around 160 flights now)

No Tony I only tighten lightly. I know about the distortion issue. The bearing looked ok after I took it out. The problem went away with the new LukeRC bearing so I'm pretty sure it was the one way getting erratic. I was getting a big tail wag every so often on real hard pitch. Which makes me wonder. Do the tail output gears (belt drive) ever slip on the shaft? I'm talking about the small counter gear.

Only CHANGE you'll get is what's left in your pocket.

failed on mine in the 4 flight.

I don't want to have and keep replacing it all the time.

So is there any one that has found a better one way bearing.
Hopefully one that doesn't have a plastic retainer/or what ever it is called holding the bearings in place.

Get the Luke rc one way unit, it is damn good. I have been running through 7 cases of nitro with it now. Some people might say Luke rc copied someone else's design or what so ever and refused to buy, but it seemed like to me that this was the only aftermarket unit I can buy when I built me 600N about 4, 5 month ago. I'm not so sure Align or other Vendors comes up any new products/designs now.
I recently see Spektrum has a new Neck Strap Balancer and the ideal & look is pretty close to the G-Force design. So, should I go to stop buying any Spektrum product?

He copied the main block design not the one way unit (at least as far as we know)

I believe that any sprag type like his will perform very well. If had your problems, I would probably move to his unit too.

However, I havn't heard any reports about the boca or vxb bearings failing.

I looked the bearings up at vxb and I found these.
Are they the right ones.

HF1216 is a general code (12 ID, 16 OD) which is a standart independently of bearing manufacturer.

No idea but measure the ID and OD and check on some manufacturer page. There arn't that many one way bearing types out there in that size.

For right now the one way is working well. I just put some lithium grease in it every now and then.

But when it dose fail, and I believe that it will.
I will change them both.

thank you for all of your help.

Add me to the list, twice.
My original bearing has lasted for 8 months (flying all over winter) I cleaned it out and triflowed it on installation. It finally failed and I replaced it and the sleeve with a new one. This new bearing was treated the same way, cleaned and triflowed and it lasted the grand total of 4 flights!
I'm hoping my new replacement will last as long as the first one.
