Is 2100 head speed to fast for a hyper 50? The difference between 2000 and 2106 that I ran yesterday was very noticeable and if it doesn't harm the engine 2100 will be my new head speed for this heli...

Whats the gear ratio? Its probably 8.7 or 8.5 and in that case its the high end of reasonable.

Gear ratio is 8.5 : 1 and it seems like a lot of people are running 2100, or close to it. I am running a CY ATG set at 2100 on my 600N Basic. Motor sounds good and cyclic and collective are nice and crisp.

Your well within spec at 2100...Hyper 50 recommended range is 1600-20000..Max power is listed as 17000

8.5 x 2100 = 17850..

Don't let the Max power figure fool you there is loads more there to be had should you want it.

I was not aware of the stock gear ratio (which is what I have) and yes I see where that would make a difference. I am glad there are so many people here willing to help.... Yes the cyclic becomes vry crisp at 2100 and noticeably better than 2000. As mentioned I just do not want to harm the engine...

2100rpm is fine! Just get the tuning right and you shouldn't have any problems.

WOLF, you're right anything over 2100rpm is to high, thats why at 2100rpm you should be fine.

I used to 3D (or attempt that is heh) my Raptor 50 at 1,600

Eventually took it up to 1900 and got the sock of my life.

The raptor then eventually boom struck for unknown reasons (infinivation, full metal head, eccpm=few links and much less slop).

But yes,

I am currently running my rexy at about 1,800 but would like to take her up to 2,100 but would like to get metal blade grips and infinivation before i do that... Would this be considered a must do for the T-rex600N Sport?

Also how does the belt driven tail fair at higher headspeeds... i have to admit i'm pretty sure my belt driven R50 autoed better than the 600 sport

maybe it's your blades, my 600n autos fine and they last quite some time, maybe my flying buddy mickeyapples will agree with me here.

You might consider getting metal blade grips if you are gonna run more than 1900.

Maybe i was just more used to and gutsy with the raptor autos heh.
But running the same blades... (TT600's).

Havnt got the guts up for a bit tail slide auto yet... heh.

Well I m not the most experienced in the auto department but I do them most of my landings. I think this 600n auto's as well as my raptor titan ... FUNNY THING IS.. the auto hub on my trex is locked up... It locked up after first few flights so I have just flown it the way it is and it autos ok this way.... I do need to check into the ix for the bearing but I figure they will release an official fix from align, if not I will just continue autos with locked one way

Using Radix and my 600N will float like its on a cloud. Inverted auto are much easier than with the Stinger, so much more left and it will pop and not rob all the power.

I am using SAB blades on both my R50's and 600N. The 600N autos much better than the R50, period.

600n Pro with SAB blades equals one great autoing machine (Radix are just about as good).

With my YS50/Hatori I've settled on 2000hs. I've leaned out the motor more at this speed versus 2100 or higher and the motor pulls +-14 without bogging. At 2100 the engine sounded like crap if I tried to lean it for power. I think the YS pulls better at this lower speed. For rolling faster I just turned up the cyclic rate. I tried Stub paddles and the heli rolled faster so I'll be installing them soon.

The Hyper is a different motor but from what I've seen at recent events my YS is pulling stronger than the guys running 2100 or higher.

Higher is not always better.
