Hi, I was about to get the same thing but ended up gettiong the mx400 deal because it was a little cheaper, But I think that deal would be great. You can also go to rcandme.com and get a t-rex sa rtf for around 500 dollars. Good luck.

The MX450 is a pretty fair deal for someone who
does not already have a radio, batts, charger,
motor, ESC, etc..

My son has that very same setup and its really
awesome to watch him fly it. That motor is VERY
powerful. (518watts). It takes the heli from
1 foot hover to 50 feet hover in the blink of an
eye straight up. Motor barely gets warm.

He has an ACE 45 amp ESC is the only difference.

I have the MX400 Pro with stock 6 pole motor. Its
pretty nice too...

If you're into Heli's it's a good way to go. But, if
you are a beginner, like me, your gonna have your
hands full.

If you have a friend who can help with the setup that
would be great.

Just my .02

i have the mx450. it's a pretty good deal, but you are going to want to upgrade it eventually. i would actually recommend getting the 400 over the 450.
if you ask anyone, they will pretty much say, the more milled parts you have, the more expensive it gets to fix it. heaven forbid something go wrong. but yes, you are getting stronger parts, but in a wreck they will break others because of it.
the only thing i would recommend about the 450, if you do get it (its a great heli in my opinion), would be to upgrade the tail slider. it wants to bind a little. cheap little fix. (i know i'm probably going to get made fun of for this) i just used the trex parts, and it is a lot smoother now. everthing else is great. mine has very little slop and all around am very satisfied.

combo deal

I went with the combo deal on the MX 400...the good news, yes, you can do the easy pay deal and not shell out all the cash up front.
The bad...you get a bunch of not so great parts you will have to upgrade right away.
The Lipo is way too small, the charger is a crap. You'll end up paying an extra hundred for a workable lipo and another hundred on a charger.
Oh yeah, the ESC they send you is garbage as well, I had to purchase a Phoenix 35 amp for another hundred...see a pattern here?

Yep FLAG8r77...You're right..its a little
too basic of a heli.

The Pro version is much better but even it
use's the cheap plastic center hub which
broke one day when I was hovering in the
back yard.

I love my MX400 Pro but, I think if you shop
around you can get a better built heli for
about the same price.

Don't forget...if you do buy a MX400 Pro be
sure to take the landing gear struts off and
boil them for about 8 or 10 minutes. It makes
them soft and pliable. Otherwise they snap
really easy.
