Go to radicalrc.com and they tell how to charge them. I have a Triton and it charges Ni-Mh great!

go to radical.

short answer is 'it depends on how
fast you want to charge the battery'.

If you want to charge it faster than
an overnight 250mA for about 14 hours,
then YES you will need a NiMH smart
charger.

If you charge it slowly and put a timer
of some sort on it, then NO.

If you want to use the Futaba charger,
you need to see what current it outputs.

Then divide 2700 by that number and
you'll get a rough idea as to how long
to charge it (but add a couple of extra
hours to cover 'losses').

so, if i use a futaba charger output of 4.8, 50ma, divide 2700/50, which mean 54 hours of charging is this correct. thats long time.

yea, that is a loooong time. Too long.
I thought the charger would put out
more than that.

The problem is that at such a LOW
charge rate, the battery may charge
but may not because you are really
not doing anything more than
'trickling' it. Batteries like to have a
reasonable amount of charge current.

IMO, my recommendation given your
situation would be to either get a
decent charger or get a smaller capacity
battery (like 1100mA)
