and this is why I saw the 3dmasters needs to be moved and redone. I think the only thing it has going for it is the level of flying. From what I've seen the way it's ran and everything else is aweful. I can't believe that someone would have the nerve to tell people to take down videos they took of the event.

What really got under my skin was on the Friday of the 3DM it was raining really hard and all flying was cancelled but they where still charging people to get into the field. I saw people turn away and refused to pay because of no flying, I am sure the Traders that where there would be trilled with that.

I'll let you all into a little secret shall I? Here goes. I went on Saturday with my wife and 4 kids and I went on Sunday with my Son and I NEVER PAID A PENNY TO GET IN Mr Barringer, what are you going to do about that, arrest me LMAO

This was posted by Mr BJ himself on the 3DX Forum, the one Andy Fell wrote.

3D Masters runs because of its Sponsors generosity. In return, those sponsors require committment from 3D Masters that their wishes and needs will be met. It states very clearly in the programme that 3D Masters is a registered Trademark covering, among other things, Audio Visual Recordings.
While we have no objection to videos being taken for personal use, and indeed being published on the web, NHC had taken, and publicised that they had taken, a huge amount of video which they were going to publish in their site.
Such action could be seen to be a direct attempt to undermine 3D Masters Sponsorship programme, and when this was explained to Simon, he understood and all parties have agreed that he meant no malice and that it was a genuine misconception, to the extent that he has removed links as requested.
Like it or not, 3D Masters has grown to become dependent upon the goodwill of Sponsors, and can only survive in this way. Jeff Barringer spends an incredible amount of his own (spare) time in developing and bringing 3D Masters to the World. If he were to stop doing it, he would certainly be an awful lot better off financially, mentally and physically. The existence of 3D Masters has nothing to do with Jeff's financial needs, more to do with his desire to provide the World, and particularly the UK with the World's biggest 3D event.
This is my only statement on this matter as both Simon and I consider it now closed.

What an idiot. He hasn't even got the guts to answer questions.

Fair Use covers the youTube stuff, but not a site full of videos of the event.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use

The organisers are well within their rights to stop a site, which TBH no one had heard of, from capitalising on their event without any go ahead or licensing agreement.

No big deal IMO. Copyright law is well established, and complaining about it here will make not a spot of difference.

If 3DX are intending to put decent quality footage on their own site for free, then more power to them. If they don't, then the Masters will have significantly less representation online, which can only hurt the competition and UK pilots.

Last years coverage by RR was excellent and probably did wonders in marketing for the Masters. Hardly anyone's going to go out and buy the DVD. Without online presence no one will see the competition, which can only harm its international standing.

I guess we'll see the same guys flying at the IRCHA in HD, for free. I hope our analogue dinosaurs catch up with the digital age, before interest wanes in the 3D Masters competition.

But come on guys this contest is becoming a business for JB not for the hobbie or to promote it, iv spoken to some of the traders and they have made a out lay of over £1000 to be there and in that payment they get there names in the program then they sell the program to the people that turn up so its just money money money,
Now there moaning that the public is showing there videos of what happened at the weekend to people that could not make it and now you can get done for it, its getting stupid!!

Iv been to some F1 races and iv seen loads of people videoing it but you don't hear of ITV moaning and demanding that all videos of F1 races be removed off the net.

Iv heard that there will be no DVD this year same a last year, so soon lance will have all hes footage on the net for all of us to down load and put on our own dvds and pass them around.

I just dont see the problem really

That man (well an excuse for one) is one big joke in my opinion. The only thing that's on his mind is money, money, money and not the good of the sport. I really wish he would stand up to his wrongs and apologise but he isn't man enough for that.

So, come on Mr Barringer Stand up and be counted like the rest.

I can remember my first 3DM, actually in it's second year. All I can say after attending every year since and following the pilots and the competitions, it appears that the organisation has become greedy. A contentious issue I know, that in itself demands great debate, but personally Jeff needs to up his game to continue charging the prices he does.
