OK. So, the rubber band slipped in flight unplugging the battery lead on the receiver.

I just rebuilt my CS Vigor. Replaced all bearings, main spindle shaft, blade spindle shaft, fly bar, main blade holders, fly bar control arms, clutch lining, control arms, and tail boom brace.

There was no damage to the tail boom or the tail rotor blades.

First flight after the repair. Blades tracking. Everything looked fine.
Go to idle up #1 (1400rpm) everything good
Idle up #2 (1900rpm) and the horizontal fin vibrates about 20mm!!!

STOPPED. Rechecked all screws and bolts (with a torx wrench) checked the backlash on the TR to bevel gear. Everything tight.

Second flight, I still have a bad vibration showing itself in the horizontal fin.

Any ideas where to start looking would be greatly appreciated!

Been there done that!

I would take a very close look at the tail rotor output shaft even though you said there was not damage to the tail boom.....

What you describe is a high freq type of oscillation which is a symptom of something fairly high speed being "tweaked".... (such as that shaft)....

You may have to take it out from the machine to really check it either by rolling it on a piece of glass or chucking it up in a lathe if you have access to one...

Thanks! I didn't really want to go there since there was no damage to the T blades but I'll check it. What about the tork tub assembly? Think it could be sonething in there?

It's possible... loosen your boom clamp and fully seat it.... then make sure you pull it out slightly to give the drive dog a little clearance.....
