I always been aware of this problem and tryed to prevent it at all costs.
Red dampers Quick Uk hub Good main blades ( also keeping them tight ) Ciclic degrees no more that 5.5º
This sunday i was enjoyng my recent manouver...the chaos. There i was when getting to upright position the heli did not reacted so well ( In my head i thought it was my fingers to blame ). Tryed to correct it and continue with the manouver and when the heli got up side down .... it exploded !
I couldnt do nothing but to see it coming down
Result:
The body it self was ok ( except the frames that snapped where the boom support tubes attach ) My beautifull carbon NHP PRO main blades broken 1 tail blade Tail case broken Belt broken Tail boom almost unrecognizeble Some links Pitch servo loose ( maybe broken gears ) Spindle Carbon tail fin and tail plane Both main grips with ball screw broken
I'm not sure but i think it was due to a bad/loose link that may have caused it
It's hard when it's not dumb thums .

Well guys,
after inspecting the parts while dissasembling my crashed raptor i noticed more damage.
The servo tray is broken, one servo case damaged, etc.
But one that surprised me was the damaged starter shaft.
It broke right in the clutch !!!
Never seen anything like this !!!
Check it out...

The clutch is a quick uk heavy duty. I hope that it's bearing is ok

borneobear,
the tail fin it's cracked also on the top side
King_Ice_Flash,
The starter shaft is the thunder tiger stock. the frame is cracked only at the boom support screws BUT...if you take a look at the picture you can see that the mufler is not quite aligned with the frame. I think it's ilusion of the broken frame as i inspected both mufler and engine and they are Ok.
BUT...there are markings in a couple of tooth in the grey gear as i noticed 2 teeths a bit white ( almost cracked ? )

I'm just hoping that it didn't bend the crank. That was a serious shock to break the starter shaft.

Also...this is how the dampers looked like when i removed the head.

Judging from your activity on here (i.e far from stupid)
I would put my 'bets' on a link failure.
I had a failed main blade grip link on a Raptor 90 SE.
I also had a boomstrike with my R50. I was doing some FFF pirotictocs (moving the heli across the field while doing pirotictocs).
I've heard that many Raptor owners have crashed their helis because of a boomstrike. It'd be interesting to hear how many Align pilots have crashed their trexes because of the same reason?
I'm still not very certain about what may have caused my boomstrike. I managed to do the caos with them before...untill that day
Worn dampers is one option on the table.
Lesson learned !!! Now i have inflation dampers and always check them during maintenance!

That sucks man, I was going to add that with all the parts changing I would defintely go with new bearings but I see you got that covered already. Don't forget it took alot of force to break that shaft, imagine the force it put on the bearings. Look at it this way, once you rebuild it you know you got new parts in instead of second guessing yourself on parts and what ifs. A bad bearing could drive you bonkers. Its better to change them out then to second guess yourself. Good luck on your rebuild, Jimmi

I agree Jimmi,
the worst thing in my mind is the clutch bearing !
That clutch is a quick uk clutch...not very cheap and that is one bearing that cannot be replaced !
will try it as is

Is it welded in, if not, heat the clutch up, and tap the bearing out, put another one in.
Good luck
