| I checked if I was even closeI contacted Quick UK about this one and they had seen one almost identical failure before but just like this one, there was a problem elsewhere... a clutch screw backing out.
It is a while back now, but if I recall correctly, in both cases there was a thrust applied through the fan caused by a clutch bolt backing out. This would have led to a failure of some sort or other. You have to bear in mind the fact that you will introduce a cyclic fatigue stress at about 300 cycles per second if you run around 2000rpm head speed. It would not take long for any aluminium part to fail through fatigue with this sort of load and fatigue stress. I have one of these twin collet fans in my Raptor and it works absolutely fine. I have never heard or seen any other posts referring to a failure of the fan either. Maybe a question to Quick UK directly would put your mind to rest? I would not have any hesitation to use or recommend one of these.
Hope this answers your question?
