I have 4 packs incoming which I gonna punish in my Ion-X and E-stratus

Will put some eagletree recordings when ive tried them out.

Main reason for me, skipping the 80% rule will give me a total of about 8-9 minutes flighttime, just like my Nitro stratus

Global EMS works fine, I have them in sweden in 5 days.
AT shipped the order the same day as I placed it, of course that is subject to quantity in-stock I guess.

as for the weight, the AirThunder weighs 9 grams less than the 5000 6s1P TP pack...

Thats not correct!

Airthunder weighs (with deans) 890 grams.
TP 6s1p 5000 extreme with deans 740 grams.
FP 6s1p 5000 EVO25 with deans 770 grams.

I love it when competition hits the market. Maybe TP packs will come down as well. 266.00 is a sweet price. I wonder if its only a introductory? With this lipo technology TP will have to be lower price 250.00 or less or develop the same chemistry as these cells.

ok so whats the diference in weight as far as pounds? If these packs hold up to the abuse, offer a good life span, they never supposed to puff and there cheaper then the other two major name brands. These could easily become popular verey fast. I know Im considering them possibly.

Clarification on Weight

Hi Folks,

Just want to clarify on the weight a bit. We did have our 5000 mAh 6S pack listed at 790 g earlier on our website. That was based on the weight of our prototype. We could not achieve our performance requirement with our prototype however and had to increase the pack size afterward. Sorry about the confusion. As it stands, the pack now weight 874 g (1.93 lb). It's just really hard to achieve "true" 25C performance without the weight. There are packs out there that claim to be 25C but are really not. We will continue to work on the formulation and hope to reduce the weight in the the future.

Thank you.

Barry H.

Here is some flights Ive done with my Ion-X (v2)

Specs:
Ion-X2
PowerJazz ESC
Actro 32-3 MAX
11.26:1 gearing.
VBlades 690

Running 2 x 6s1p 5000 packs as 12s1p 5000

Three flights with Airthunder 5000 packs.

Compared to flight with FP and TP 5000 25C packs

Flightpower

Thunderpower

Voltage under load is pretty much equal to both FP and TP.
(dont get fooled by "min voltage" on the graph since I run the AT until voltage drops.)
However, They are a bit too large for the Ion-X2 and unfortunally you can feel the extra weight since I run two packs it adds up pretty much.

Also, Ion-X2 has CG issue already with TP/FP 5000, with the AT its becoming an real issue.

I will try it in my E-Stratus running Neu 1915/1.5Y next.

They sound great but are they gonna last? What's the difference from a "normal" lipo?

I do AP and get 8mins gentle hovering with FP4900 at 80%. I could get 10mins + with these!!

Ben.... "what goes up, must come down!"

MrMel,

Looks like you had several fun flights Did you have to readjust your cutoff for the AirThunder battery?

Also, do you run a governor?

Thanks,

Errol

well it's thuerday and still no batteries. If it takes this long to get them how is the customer service going to be? I am going to send AirThunder a e-mail and see what they say but I am not impressed at this point and the batteries are as far as I can tell worth having if you can get them.

I time my flights with FP/TP and dont use cutoff.
so I have the cutoff programmed at 3.0v and just let it fly with AT.

Yes, Jazz governor.

I would have emailed them a long time ago.
