e-Ikarus Piccolo-Eco 8/16 > Rev up motor results in counter clockwise rotation...

Folks-
I recently completed my bird. I am using FUTABA 7 TX with stock swash at 90deg setup. Also, the tail rotor servo is installed on the tail boom.

The problem I am running into is when rev up throttle, the bird yaw right (looking from behind- pitch problem). The tail rotor arm is set to 90deg (as indicated in forums and user's manual). I will appreciate any suggestion.

right, heli yaws do to main rotor counter rotation gyro should compensate for this. which gyro are you using and have you ever set up a heli before? not to offend just want to know If you've already checked the obvious.

this is what naturally happens during spoolup a gyro is supposed to counteract this.

It is doing just the opposite...

On the contrary, my tail is going in the opposite direction, i.e. too much pitch I guess!

Is this an Eco or a Piccolo?

If it's a Piccolo, the problem is very likely adjustment of the mixer pot, need to back it down a bit!

If it's an Eco, you may need to adjust the linkage to the tail rotor to reduce the pitch when the servo is at neutral. If your gyro is a HH type, make sure you do not have revolution mixing enabled on your transmitter, if it's not a HH type then try reducing the amount of revolution mixing.

exactly, need to know what your flying and setup to help further I sold my eco8 but I remember its setup you know more about a heli you build.

sorry photo shows airflow direction just used old drawing. if your tail is moving the opposite way of arrow nose right tail left looking from behind you don't have enough tail pitch Eco8 or speed picolo
