Sent this e-mail to Real Flight, can anyone here help me set this up?
Man!, I am steaming. Help put out the fire. Thanks for any help.

Hello Folks,

Well, if I'd had known how gawd damn hard it is to setup my XP8103DT PCM to interface with G2 ,I'd would have probably bought a different simulator. There is no warnings out there how hard and frustrating it is. After several hours of trying and reading your website, I am at a lost. Everything else works fine, graphics, sound but the controller does not control the aircraft. Now I bought this after trying one at my local hobby shop, they had your controller hooked to thier computer and I was impressed.
NOT ANY MORE!!! I am going to log on to all the websites i can find that deal with r/c and tell them the truth! You guys have got to be laughing your a$$es off at the ridiculous amount of money you charge and the fact that the normal person cannot make the interface "INTERFACE" unless we buy your software bundle with your controller. I noticed you have a whole page dedicated to just that and it as confusing as everything else. Man! this really sucks. Now I am going to ask for help and I expect it!! and you better gawd damn better help me over the phone or I am really going to be pissed! My number is (209)956-6850 or if you like I will call you on my dime, just give me a number.

Steam coming out my ears,

I was suprised at how easy it was to use my JR8103 with Realflight

I just plugged the cable in and it worked. I had to reverse some servos. That was all I had to do.

Are you turning on your radio? You don't want to turn on your transmitter. When you plug in the Realflight Adapter Cable your transmitter turns on but doesn't emit RF.

HTH,
Mike

G-2?

I know this may seem simple and you may have it already, but, do you have yourTX in PPM?(FM) It won't recognize the TX in PCM mode. At least my 8103DT wouldn't work in PCM. -------BladeRunner.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. Radio is in PPM mode (fm) and the radio switch is in the off posistion. When I plug the interface in, the tx comes on as it is suppose to. The collective seems to work now but when I lift off there is no tail control. pirouetting like I wish I could in real life. Also no elevator or aileron rotor control. When apply throttle it just climbs and climbs, then crashes and crashes when I pull the throttle off. Now I know that's right. Keep em' coming and Thanks

Similar problem to mine

Read below to see what is going on with mine!!! Similar problem. I posted the below on the knifeedge website. Jeeeese I worked in the design room for the last 8 years working with cad and cnc and all kinds of different computer stuff and while that doesn't make me an expert, it should get me something!!! but not with G2, I'm left with an unflyable sim.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My transmitter won't calibrate correctly. I have a JR 8103, I reset the transmitter, it is on ppm, When I change some things on my radio they don't change on the helicopter. I can change the ATV's to get the collective servo to -100 & +100as seen om the advanced calibration screen but then the heli rolls badly to the left at full throttle/collective. Changes I make to my throttle & pitch curves on my radio don't seem to affect the heli. I checked all the settings by looking at the advanced navguides to confirm my findings. I have upgraded to the latest version(386 I think). G2 worked fine for two days then it just went to ****, coincidentally about the same time I added the Add on #3 for the raptor helicopters. I uninstalled G2 and didn't install the #3 addon disk and it still does the same thing. Why did it do this and how can I fix it?
Thanks
Vince

hello,

OK, It is working!!! What I did was to calibrate the XP8103PCM DT to the interface in airplane mode.Do not use heli mode on your radio to calibrate. You must use one of the model memory slots and enable airplane mode. It calibrates correctly, then after you can switch back to heli mode. You must also enable the software models on G2 to use your transmitter. You must make a copy of the model, rename it, so that you can edit it. Hope this helps. Only took 6 1/2 hours to fiqure it out.

Man that seems like an awfull alot of trouble to get it working. I'm surprised that Knife Edge hasn't responded to you. There must be a better way to get the thing to work in heli mode.

No Joy !!!

I switched to a free model on my 8103,changed it to an airplane and I reset the model, I then recalibrated G2 and I'm still getting the same problem.
I see above that you were in PCM mode, I had my airplane model in the transmitter in PPM mode for calibration as I have read that PCM is a no-no in simulators, G2 included. Do you also have the heli model in your radio in PCM??

Hello,

My radio was in ppm mode for calibration and flying the sim. What I looked for was that only one channel responded to the simulator on one channel only of the sim. Then I could assign the sim channels as needed. Under Heli mode I would get five channnels moving simultaneously on the sim with one stick, this was confusing and did not work. Switching the radio to airplane mode the sim calibration went smoothly and responded correctly. Real Flight's number is (217)398-8971 option 3. I did not call them as everything works and it is a great sim once working. Now I have egg on my face I need to go wipe off

Have you gone into advanced in the calibration menu? You have to calibrate the "raw" channels to the Tx channels. "Raw" channels being the simulator channels. You have to asign these channels to the channels on your Tx. Using JR, try these. The first being the "raw" channel followed by the actual Tx. channel. C1=C2, C2=C3,C3=C1,C4=C4,C5=C5,C6=C6
