QuickWorldWide Ep and Wet Fuel Helis > Helicommand Questions.....

I am torn between the Helicommand and the Spartan 2000i.

I need a good system to help me out when I start flying around and loose orintation or messing around with some 3D stuff. I am not doing any AP stuff right now but maybe in the future I might.
Just need a bail out system to bring the thing back level again so I dont crash when flying around.

I was told to post here to get some answers about these system to help me decide. Thanks!

TESTING THE SYSTEM AS WE SPEAK

In Germany our office has been very successful with the Heli Command...So far we have the Gyro working GOOD & setting the senors now for level position throught default command...

The site has the listing between basic & advance equipment...there are more features basically that's the differenece....Irwin

Please keep me updated to see if this will help me when I need a quick bail out. I dont have any issues with hovering. I just want it to level out when I let go of the stick or switch it on if I am messing around and loose orintation and dont want to crash it.

Thanks

It up to set up & test

If preset & tested accuratly the stabilizer will function as claimed...

So you are saying that this will stablize out when flying in higher altitudes? I heard that it wont do to good over 3M?

works for me...

That's a fair assumption....it beat hitting the ground & ripping up the machine

WE FINALLY GOT THE SYSTEM TO FUNCTION 100%

We just completed testing the Captan system....The gyro works much better than a 401....however I can take & hold the radio in my palm hands off & it works after playing with number setting changing the tail servo to HS...it will save many a crash....I thing for beginners it will apy for itself quickly...

THERE IS NO QUESTION THIS IS THE 1ST GENERATION WITH GREAT THING TO COME IN THE FUTURE...

I still want one that will stablizer itself after power loss...then we are really talking...

That was the answer I like to hear!!! Thats pretty cool that it is working good. So you mean it would be good if there was a failsaif if power loss ocurrs on the transmitter? I wonder if that will be an option in later builds that can be upgraded via software like the Spartan so we dont have to buy newer HW.

Sorry I misunderstood that one. This thing sounds like it is pretty sound!

Do you guys mind posting a video on it? It would be really interesting to see a walk through on the setup and flights showing it stabilizing the heli when you loose orientation or avoiding a crash....

This would be great to show its capabilities.

I have seen those videos and they are cool at showing that they can hover. I have no problems with the hover part. I want to see a video where they are actually doing some real flying around and watching the system save the heli from a crash. This would be great incase a person becomes overwhelmed and just let the system put the machine into a hover so you can gain orientation and mind and continue flying again.

Lets see some real flying!!

Thanks,

Give it time

Jay I think you are asking too much of thus technology at this moment in time....

I think this is geared for the beginner considering it has height limitation....When the height factor can be expanded then this technology will do for you what you are seeking.. Now it is not ready for that...

I am torn between the Helicommand and the Spartan 2000i.\\UPDATE--

Jay1;

It looks like the Robbie is focused on the task of low altitude hovering.
The 2000i seems the one for the high altitude Airiel Photo stuff and such. I would wait and keep asking around for someone that uses the 2000i first then ask someone that has and used the Spartan Heli-Command like you already have heard from.
The altitude limit is the thing we need to clear up here.
I wouldn't whant a limit on that beond reasonable, or worse "For 99 Dollars more" you can go 200 feet !!
Whatch out for that stuff. Get into Airiel Photo forums [AP]
and ask what the Bergen Airiel guys are using , compair prices too of course.

When the big boys toys manufacturers use it you can be more sure that
it is not junk. These Bergen guys are typical quality that Hollywood Studios would use if they had to, the 2000i now comes with a "Complete Package setup. This would be my first chioce now, as there doesn't seem to be a low altitude limit nor a charge for a higher one. and it's all in one package now.

Thanks for clearing up things about the HC guys. I am sure that in time it will be a great product for higher altitude usage. I just wanted some sort of recover failsafe at any altitude. I may be asking too much but I am still learning about these stabilizers.

It would be nice to see a video you guys make from tomorrow's flight plan!!!

Jay,

I have heard of people putting the FMA system on copters as a failsafe. It works off the horizon so it should work at any level. And it does have the ability to put you right side up and level even if you are upside down.

Here is the link to one of the systems.
http://www.fmadirect.com/Detail.htm...1770§ion=29

I am not expert in these system. I just know this one is out there.

Yeah I have been told to stay away from them. I was originally going to look into that setup but many said it dont work right. This was part of the reason why I settled with either the HC or the Spartan.

Thanks for the info though@!

Are you talking about the HC or the FMA product?
