hey Jeff it depends on what sides of the area we go to to fly

most the time there is not a football team there. but all of a sudden they came out right were we were gonna fly for bout 15 minutes pushin round a set of tackle blocks. that has never happened before.

but there is a track were people do different things on like walk run whatever its bout 100 yards away
we can go further away from the track if we want also
its got enough to fly

so we adjust if we have to to keep it safe

As a heads up as we head towards Fall alot of the school fields will be harder to use. We Anthony and I have been flying at Browns Point Elem and the Soccer teams are starting to get ready. I think Field day for striping etc is in 2-3 weeks.

Still trying to work on some County land. Also in talks with a Line fly club to share some space. They are nervous about the RC side and the city of Kent. If we can work it out the site is very central and a nice location. Should be 2-3 flight stations with a tree backdrop. Not super deep but width is good.

Looking at a site in Kent and trying to get through the red tape if all goes well the site will be 5 mins from old SC site. Might need to put together a group clearing effort and work party but as we know more we'll post.

Should be Nitro and electric friendly.

Sunday Southcenter

I will be at the SouthCenter (Pacific Gateway) field all day Sunday... for anyone who wants to join for an air-whipping good time.

I will be at the SouthCenter (Pacific Gateway) field all day Sunday...

We had a good day of flying, Dave, Sam, Bill, and I, but the owner of the land we were flying over came by to tell us we could fly the rest of the day, but not to come back. At the time we were parked and standing on land owned by the closest building, whose owner had given us permission. So we're out of another unofficial flying field.

Yes, but only if we are standing on the grass lands are we in violation. Simply stand and fly from the asfult. That guy does not own the air. I'll be there frequently just the same. We do have permission to be on the asfult parking lot from the owner, Cliff. Cliff himself flys heli's and airplanes.

just a suggestion, don't mess with mr seagle. if you have plans on finding a public place to fly, he can be your biggest nightmare. trust me, in the past, the county had planned on using county owned property for county purposes, the land was close to his land, and he managed to stop the county from issuing the county building permits. lol.

Thanks for the advice. I will personally make it a point not to be sassy with him. Mr. Seagle was not even mean when he last talked to us; just a stiff warning about liability. I notified Cliff of the last visit from Mr. Seagle and Cliff was positive it is fine to fly on his parking lot. There's plenty of room north and east on the lot. Since we are on someone else's property, everything will be alright. So far it's only been myself, Karl, and Bill going to that location. Several times I've been all by my self. Come join us!

Yep, last time I was there, we were careful to never step into Mr Segale's property. Cliff, the owner of the land we were flying from, was there with his friend as well, flying a dual motor electric scale plane.

I do admit I am not entirely comfortable with the situation, but it's the only place I can fly my nitro until next year (when I have to choose between RAMS and Snohomish). And from what I have been told, RAMS may not last much longer either.

That's what's been the rumor for the last 5 years we've been there.

Also keep in mind the longer you fly in "renegade fields" the chance of someone getting hurt increases greatly.

I find it very interesting that some will spend 4,000 plus dollars on helicopters and equipment but won't pony up and join a club that has safety measures in place.

I'd like to join the RAM's just to be around more RC enthusiasts and for a nice grass field. However the drive after work down i5 South often is bad around the 5:00pm hour, and about 20 miles away. How will I get 20 flights per day that way?

Cliff's Pacific Gateway "field" is just 7 miles from me with zero traffic, and free. Lonely... but free. As for safety, a flight line is adhered to always, and promoted at least from myself to others.

Jeff, Very good point. I have considered joining RAMS at the full year fee, just for four months. But not being able to prorate a membership for the remainder of a year, is just silly.

On the safety issue, yes, very important. No matter where I am flying, I do everything I can to take this into consideration, and I do not fly in locations where anyone can be in danger, no matter which heli I am flying.

Sam also mentions a point, with Seattle traffic, it's not easy to get down to RAMS on a normal weekday evening, leaving weekends only.
