Bobby (tail slide) Watts is currently spanking one at IRCHA... Looks like a great little model to compete against the Trex's. Wonder what the price of spares will be though?!?!

I want one!! The two things i like the most are the tail drive pulley, and the way the servos mount.

Beam

Miniature Aircraft will be the SOLE world distributor (except for a deal in Singapore, only to sell in Singapore) for the Beam (soon to have Miniature Aircraft name) new helicopter. Yes, the model in made in Korea, will come WITH main and tail blades. Miniature may be offering a few power packages too, as Tim stated, there are so many different packages out there for this size, can't carry them all. Should be here in the states in a few weeks, once the final instructions and packaging are set. MANY kits ready to go, just waiting on these last couple of items to be finalized. Tim was taking 'show orders' at $299 apiece at IRCHA. Several people signed up for them. Parts will be easy to come by and extremly cost competitive. Can't wait for mine to show up.

I've had a Beam for six months now and I love it! It was really easy to assemble with only about 3/4 of the parts count found on a TRex SE. After the first flying session with the Beam I put both of my TRex SEs on ebay. The quality of the machining is fabulous. Both of my Beams run smooth as silk right out of the box. There are some great features on this machine. All swashplate control rods are the same length so there is no mechanical inter action. If you have any interaction with this machine it's probably in your radio. The tail rotor transmission is so simple and much easier to work on when replacing belts. I'm flying mine completely stock to include the Sung Woo carbon fiber blades that come with the kit. I have a set of Radix and SAB 325s but have not felt inclined to try them since the Sung Woos feel so good. Don't even think twice about buying this machine, just get it and I can assure you that you won't want to fly any other 450 size machines. The Beam is so much more stable and predictable than the TRex especially on the collective. It's not bouncy, shifty or quirky. First hover felt like flying a 90 compared to the TRex. The Beam is da Shiznit!

I have one of the few here in the US... But I've been running a Mega 16-15-3 motor with a 17T pinion. I've been running Thunder Power 2200mah 11.1V extreme packs with a Pheonix 35 ESC. Servo's... I'm running Hitec HS-65HB's. Rotar blades I've been running Radix 325's. So far my heli has REDICULOUS power, doesn't bog, and still get decent flight times.

You sure that a 17T pinion?? That has to be a typo with a 150 tooth main gear you are up over 4000 rpm.

Yup it's a 17T pinion. I run's at about 3400 actually. Thats at 90% efficiency. I think you did a little math wrong... because even at 100% it should only be about 3770. The Mega 16-15-3F is a 3000Kv motor by the way.
