I'd say if ya got it, use it!

I got the Nexus combo in November and haven't had any problems with the radio, it's served me well enough. I can already see were I'm going to be looking forward to the luxuries of something a little more advanced, but it's crunch time at my house this time of year so I guess I'll have to wait till work picks up in the spring before I go off spending money I don't have on something I really don't need (thats what heli's do to you).

Want one cheap!??

I have upgraded from the radio supplied in the nexus combo and it now sits in the case, UNUSED, where it will remain for the rest of my flying days..........or till I can sell it.

The basic Futaba 6 channels (6VH, 6XH) are fine starters, but if I had it to do over again (if your considering flying helis for more than a year), I would put your money into a better radio from the start.......if you have the means to do so now.

Recommendations would be the JR 8103 or Futaba 8U/9C models......something with Digital Trims and a multi model memory. With these radios, all the other bells and whistles are already there. If you turn out like the rest of us, your addiction will drive you to get a second heli within 1.5 years of your first hover.........sooner in many cases

Anyways, if your still interested in a 6 channel, I have a 6VH in mint condition, Tx, Rx and charger with case (no servos) that I will be glad to sell........just make me an offer.

Either way...........Welcome to the greatest hobby in the world!!!!

Hey Darin,

For 45 bucks i'll take that thing called a radio off your hands

Helicopter J,

Very very soon you will be looking for another radio should you choose to go with their combo. Same with the gyro.

I wanted to go with the Nexus combo when i was starting out. The guys here changed my mind into getting a Sceadu 50 and the Futaba 9C radio. Even though it is more money, you will never regret it.

Before I even thought of helis I had the Futaba 6XH. I was considering about using that radio. Now I realize how much easier and better life with with something like the 9C is.

Another thing is that there are some things in that combo which you wouldn't need.

Nexus combo

If you are on a budget -the Futaba 6H will get you going. But if you can get a combo with a better heli included for a similar price I would change.

Check the postings here from the fellow asking about the Century Hawk IV. He started with the Nexus, and now wants to upgrade to the Hawk IV because of how quickly his Nexus developed slop. Check out the combo packages at other places becides Tower, like Heli-World
( www.heli-world.com ) or at Ron Lunds ( www.ronlund.com ) on a combp with the Century Hawk IV and you may find that if you go with one that includes the Futaba 6H that you will have a better Heli to start with. (The Nexus will get you started but will wear out pretty fast.)

If you want to hear more about the Hawk IV check out what owners have to say about it here and on the "showdown" forum on
www.rchelicopters.org under the 30 size helis. Compare their comments to those on the Nexus or any others. I am sure you will not regret doing this little bit of extra homework
