Crashed? Discussion and Photos > Another bad Day!

Went out with a flying friend for the first flight with my Raven since the massive $700 rebuild from an unexplained glitch and chicken dance. So a lot of new parts on board!

Hovered a tank and trimmed her up then checked her over, all fine, let's go fly!

Started off with another hover test and then some slow flying, working up to some figure 8's. Started giving it so some stick on the 8's and as i have flown past me and gone to turn right the heli has basically gone "mind of it's own" mid corner and all I had time for (which i didn't have time for last major crash) was to hit throttle hold.

Bad crash? Well any crash sux but my saviour was that it was caught by a small tree/bush! My buddy and I had to wrestle a few branches to free it but boy was I lucky (as lucky could really be). It's the smaller tree behind to the right of the big tree in the photo.

Looking at about $200, mainly because of blades. Only suspect parts were that the boom had come loose and a link was missing but don't know if either was caused by the crash or caused the crash.

Confidence and heli takes another battering

I sure hope that will keep something from loosening up or popping off

I've had a bad run like that also with my gasser. Little things causing my to have mishaps where I would break blads and such. The blades are always the killer!!! Check it, re-check it, and then check it again.

Thanks guys. While 2.4 would be useful, I don't think it would have helped this time.

Took her out again on the weekend ($180 later), this time fitted with fibreglass blades, not CF, just in case of another crash!

Trimmed up ok and didn't get to fly properly but all seemed good till bench test time at home and it looks like one of the 9252's has now f$%ked up!!!!! (See servo section).

Will I ever win?? I remember a time where i could fly tank after tank and day after day without a drama.
