Guys...my muffler nuts keep vibrating/unsrewing themselves off, i used blue locktite but that seems pointless. What does everyone else use? Was thinking of using JB Weld or green locktite...any help would be appreciated

I used just a little of my gasket making material.. permatex ultra black and rubbed it on the screws before tightening them down, then the nuts have something to hold to... how about trying lock nuts??

But Honey, I can't live with just stock.....

I have been having good luck with red locktite. Most of my aluminum mufflers have helicoils for threads.

Lock washers is about the best way to go. If you use loctite on the screws it acts as a lubricant on the screws. When the pipe gets hot the loctite turns back into a liquid. And the liquid being in there is what acts as a lube, which HELPS the nuts work loose. Another thing to note is directly after the FIRST flight after installing the pipe give the screws a good tweaking to snugg them down while still hot. Then the pipe should stay on until YOU want it to come off.

I do tend to use lock nuts myself in conjunction with the lock washers. Add that to a retighten after the first flight and I have never had one come loose.
