ok

Well I have 5 flights on the 3d today

The pitch response is really nice I might have to learn control all over again

Rolls where some of the fastest I have ever done on a right to left pass

elev well there is more power there than I now what to do with

I like to fly fast and my last flight was so fast whether forward or backwards the heli was moving we had about a 15 knot wind at the field the setup is hot all most to hot for me the 13* well you better know how to use it

all my flight where about one thing to see if that this setup would hold up like my SE so far no problem I just tried to killer the heli in the air walls tail slides for the heavens ETC ETC the stock paddles work great the radix SB where hot with all the wind so every thing was flat out I put a set of super studz they are crazy I need fly bar weights or I might even change up the mixing ratio I know that Colin bell would love this setup for me like I said its hot much hotter then my currant SE so I have to find a happy medium for me I know there was a camera at the field and vids where shot so keep your eyes open for them that’s all I have for now

there are no clouds in the vid but when i get close to the ground you can see how fast the heli is flying nuts i need to get the weight on one and see how much ligther it is then a se

The 3D is the new version that just came out. It is basically a stock Raptor 90 with a few updates. The biggest difference is the head block. It uses different "non-linear" dampers. I haven't tried one to find out what that means. The 90SE is the fully upgraded model (carbon frame, metal head,
etc.) It looks like all of the 90 3D parts would fit the 90SE. You may have to buy more than one thing i.e. different head block requires different dampers and see-saw.

Un saludo desde Mexico

Dino I appreciate all your feedback regarding the 903D. For all of us that have the SE, I do think you can get the SE to perform just like the 90 3D with the addition of a few mods. Here is what I would do

1. Heavy duty clutch liner
2. Pushpull elev/collective
3. Either G-Force mixing arm (for more pitch) or metal TT arm
4. Flybar cage
5. Infinovation red dampers

I think thats really all you need to give it that POP and the increased roll rate. However I may be wrong so for all you 903D owners please enlighten me.

Have anyone of you tried the G-force mixing arms and the ThunderTiger flybar cage together?

As compared to the SE, are there much improvements in cyclics power and weight?

they have the improved seesaw hub for more cyclic travel. Which is one part I would like on my SE.

yes

yes you can use the tt new arms for improved pitch and cyclic that would be the first thing i would change

the new sea saw will not work with the currant bird cage its to long for the cage you have to put the stock flybar arms back on along with the new arms for the hoops that are longer or you can space them out look in my gallery to see the protype i have been using for some time now

the push pull is great BUT you have to make sure that there is no binding at all or you will fir a servo follow the book on this to the T and you will see that i works great my ARF in the 14 on the aler and the ele are 75% i have change my setup aroud its just to much pitch and cyclic for me i have 13* of pitch and 8* of cyclic just not what i need to fly my style i now colin will be happy with all that but i am a big and fast flyer i use the speed of the heli to pull off the moves i like i am back to 11* and 7* strong i have moved the ball on the upper mixing arm back to the stock hole, i have super studx on with flybar weights near the paddles

the SB radix might say not sure i like a blade with more weight for the speed that i flight at there are more stable when going big for those that bang on the deck the SB are the trick i feel the need for speed when if fly

the new liner works great grabs right off the bottom

the new dampeners have about 12 fligts on them i will pull them out soon and have a look to see how they are holding up but they are not at crisp at the infinavations nither are the plastic blades grips but the are working great i will pull them apart and see how the bearing are doing

can you post a pic of the push/pull for the collective side? I wonder if you can buy this upgrade for a raptor 60

I have an old Raptor 60 that I've been wanting to convert to a 90, and this seems like a good bird to copy. I already have a metal head (it's older, like it might have been an upgrade before the SE came out) and a metal washout.

What other parts would I need to make my 60/90 perform like your 90 3D? Here are some questions:

(Metal swash is a given)

Do the metal bearing holders make a noticable difference?

Does the aluminum elevator make a noticable difference?

Would the newer clutch liner in the 60 sized clutch hold up okay? (I believe that the clutches in other heli's are similar sized to the 60 clutch (ie the synergy))

I saw that you feel a difference with the plastic grips.

Other than the new see saw, what else would I need?

Thanks to Dino and all!

Michael

Hi Dino,

The nice thing about the massive cyclic is you can easily de-tune without adding after market parts unlike having a machine that needs more cycic at max throws. Good impressive report!

I guys, here is a short video of mine Raptor 90 3D.
It feels very light and agile.
I'm very happy with the overall performance.

Is the new 3d structually the same as any other raptor 90, i'm thinking of converting one to E but there is so much mofification needed, hope this one is easier?

6V operation on ther Rappy 90 3D

HI All,
I have been following this thread as I am about to add a Rappy 90 3D to my fleet of 60 rappy's and I notice a few have posted they are running 6V (5 cell Nicad packs) on thier Rappy's. I always thought that you had to feed the gyro ( T/R servo actually) 4.8V. If this is true are people just adding in a resistor to drop voltatge to the T/R servo? - are people running dual output regualtors?

I fly all my airplanes at 6V and would love to get the extra speed and torque from 6V on my heli, especially the new 90 I am finally ready to buy. I will be using a 611 on her

Thanks to all for your opinions in advance!

Joe

josy11,

Your tail servo (9256???) must be used with a maximun of 5,3 volts, your full charged 5 cells pack will be around 7 volts (or a little more), so it´s not a good idea.
You can try some regulator.

Best regards,

Toto
