Do you think it would be possible to turn the tray upsidedown without it hitting the canopy? If this is possible you would have a place to mount the gyro sensor up front on a flat surface.

The tray can be mounted upside down, but there is basically no room left to install anything on it.

According to the thread on the other forum where I borrowed the photo, yes. I have not tried it myself, but it would seem there should be plenty of clearance.

I say no. I installed mine upside down, and now I have rub marks on the inside of my canopy where the empty tray was starting to rub through the fiberglass canopy. At the very back you might have a 1/2" due to the curvature of the canopy, but for the most part you won't have any room to mount anthing.
