My 600N will be here Friday 6-29. What about a motor? well here is my delima that only the experience Nitro RR members can help with, you RR members are amazing so far! 4 motors I am interested in...
(OS .50 ringed Hyper)
(YS .50ST)
(Webra 55 P5 .50 8.17) not yet available in the states and
(Novarossi 8.3cc Square Stroke .50 Helicopter Engine) is a killer engine making the most HP and RPM
I am a power freak, comes from racing pylon for so many years I guess. What motor am I going to be happy with, not to worried about price and life span I can deal with being average or a little below, I love power so give me you advice and input, I am going to buy a motor very soon and only want to buy once, hate finding out i should have bought something else when its to late so lets do this!
I am leaning towards the NovaRossi making the most power,

If you are more keen on the Webra 55 and you are a power freak, then I think you should look into the Western UK modded Webras.

Here is the link...check them out.

YS 50

I just upgrade from a Hyper 50 to a YS 50. I grin ear to ear during and after every flight.

The problem I see with the Webra and Rossi (nova or not) line of engines is that the major exhaust manufacturers have not invested any time into designing the proper exhaust. Every racer should know that a powerful engine is only as good as its exhaust. There are not top level pilots flying these engines publicly, which would be a major red flag.

I was told by someone on the inside of Horizon Hobbies once that the novarossi engines were monsters, but they couldn't find a proper exhaust/gear ratio/fuel/plug combos to make them user friendly. Of course they had access to everything that Horizon carries to experiment with, but for the average consumer, this could cost a fortune to problem solve out of pocket. This is exactly why I gave up on the WEbra P91AAR about 4 years ago. 4 $125 mufflers, countless $8 plugs, and 6 types of fuel that would never get used again just simply put the brakes on that project.

I would get on the order list for a YS 50 and be patient. If you must have an engine right now, get the hyper for the time being, even if you get a used one.

Webra 55 P5

Hi!

I used that engine one year ago in a Raptor 50 SE.
Here in Austria Webra is very often used because it is Made in Austria and after running in it supplies very good power and performance. The service is great also.
My engine was really excellent and with the Magic Pipe (Webra) mounted I got a powerful and good sounding combo.
So it is absolutely worth the try.

If you like to learn more about Webra check out their site:
