I'm purchasing a futaba 401 for my raptor 30. The 401 I'm interested comes with a 9253 digital servo. Will this servo work with my JR XP652 radio and stock receiver? The radio uses FM if that is any help.

Thanks before hand....

Also,
How are these digital servo's different than say just the standard 537's that came with my radio? Are they more reliable?

That combo is the prefered combo around the hobby. You can use Futaba servos with JR Equipment. You just have to trim off a small tab on the servo connector so that it will fit in your JR receiver. Just take a hobby knife and cut the sliver off, its really simply...no major surgery or anything. Once you get the servo you will see this little tab I am speaking of.

Digital Servos use up more power than standard, but are generally quicker to move to the desired servo position. This is ideal for rudders especially, because the Gyro will make thousounds of corrections to adjust for wind, etc. to keep your tail in correct direction.

I am sure som eother can shead more light on on digital vs standard question.

Digital servos process inputs faster. They also center better and their torque comes on sooner than standard servos. They do like to suck up power though, I've found out with my Fury with 3 digital 9252's and one 9253 on the tail. The power is zapped out of a 2700mah NiMh pack in 4 flights or less.

401 combo

I find the 401 to be easy to set up and almost bullet proof. It will spoil you if you are not careful because it works so good and is so easy to set up.I use it on every chopper I have.In all fairness I have not tried any other HH gyro but "IF IT AINT BROKE , DONT FIX IT" 537 will be great on everything else so just hold on and have a good time.If you have questions on set up send me a message.
