Align T-REX 600N 700N > torque tube or belt?

Aside from the other differences in the Pro vs non(carbon frames and fibre canopy)how much "better" will the TT perform? I don't mind the difference in price too much, but I'm not sure what benefit I'm getting from the TT.

I guess I'm asking for pros and cons for each.

Please help!

Belt or Tourq

From what I have been told from a close friend that has used both is a torque tube gives a much more of a locked in tail feel and sharper response however its not very forgiving when it comes to the tail rotor blades coming into contact with anything, a torque tube and torque tube gears sustains damage even from the lightest contact with the ground or twigs lying on the grass, a belt as you know is very forgiving and can take alot of abuse, as for the feel I doubt us none competing weekend sport flyers will notice very little between the two, I am going with the belt system with my 600N

I converted my Nitro pro to a belt drive last weekend after stripping the tail drive gears and being unable to get replacements in time. I am certainly no pro but I do try to throw the heli around pretty hard. I honestly could tell very little, if any, difference in the way the tail handled with the belt as opposed to the TT. I didn't do any serious autos last week so I cannot comment on the difference between TT and belt in that department, but as far as performance under power, they seemed the same to me.

i dont know how you can say that. lets face it sometimes people say ," dam i only touched lightely and my dam gears stripped what the heck..." when they really dig in deeper then they say. now im not going to say everyone is lying but sometimes people stretch the truth quit a bit and dont own up to there mishaps

i had my canopy come off the other day while flying inverted and the canopy went thru my main blades and then thru my tail blades. i broke one tail blade almost in half and the other got chipped at the tip. the only thing i had to replace is the canopy and tail blades nothing else broke. if that doesnt say how tough it is then i dont know what will...

when i get my 600n pro,.. i am going to a belt conversion,.. until i stop smacking the ground with the t/r blades,..looks like about 40 bux in parts,..and the align t/r belts are 8 bux cdn at the lhs,.. the one gear i have seen stripped was from a easy strike on a 600e,.. stripped the bevel gear on the counter shaft,.. pia to change,...is the made all the gears metal except the one on the t/r shaft,. that would be an easy field replacement.

Why would you get a pro if you are going to do the belt drive? Wouldnt you just get the standard kit?

this is just for in case anyone who has a pro and wants to convert to the belt, in the long run its cheaper for some people. usually the belt is the only thing that goes. i'm gonna do a belt on my 2nd t600n pro and keep the parts as spares for my first one.

If anyone wants to trade a TT system for a brand new belt system from a 600N sport version, I got one. I didnt start my build yet so its brand new in the package...

PS. I will throw in 45 bucks to offset the cost of the metal tail unit...

Its What I dont Say You Should Be Worried About...

How big of a difference will you see in an auto with the TT vs the belt? Obviously a belt will auto just fine as Raptors have been doing so for years. That being said, I've seen TT helis land an auto and still have enough energy left to leave the skids again.

So will there be a big difference...or not so much?
