Beginners Corner > a question on the HAWK SE II

Hey guys I'm kind of new to helis and this sight. I currently have a NEXUS 30. Another member on this site lives close to me and he is helping me so I'm not alone. I have just been hovering, walking it around, and moving it around. I am starting to get comfortable with hovering, but my NEXUS seems to be wearing pretty much. I am interested in getting the HAWK SE II. I was wondering if anybody knows if the regular kit comes with the muffler. I was looking on Heli World and Century, and they say it doesn't come with muffler, boom supports, or the swashplates guide that sticks up behind the swashplate. If anybody could let me know it would be greatly appreciated! I would like to order this kit soon.

Hawk SE V2

Hi Scrape,

Good for you on your flight progress with the Nexus. I know what you mean when you say how quickly it is wearing. You will find the SE very "wear resistant" relative to the Nexus (or any other 30 for that matter).

Unfortunately it does not come with a muffler. I would suggest the CN3033. It is a high volume/high output unit that is very quiet, gets great power from the 30 size engines and is relatively inexpensive. ($40.00)

It does come with the dual tail boom supports and uses the standard Hawk IV (which works very well) Swashplate radius support method. It does not include the extra radius support of the Falcon SE. This is not critical on a 30 size machine as it is controlling much smaller and lighter mainblades. It can easily be added later if you do want it. I did not find it worth adding it to mine.

Hi Oldfart,

Thank you for the reply. This gives me all the info I need to order. Hopefully I will get it ordered within the next two weeks. I won't be doing much but hovering with it, but you got to start somewhere right. I just want a wear resistant machine that will last a long time and not need alot of upgrades when I start taking on bigger obstacles. I will keep you guys posted on the outcome when I get it. Thanks a bunch!
