Autogyros - Gyrocopters > Where do I start?

Ive been gaining interest in the gyro copter thing progressively more and more over the past several months.

I have never seen one in person.
I have never seen one fly.
I have never met someone who does.
I have never seen a hobby shop that sells one.

What I have done, is flown one on the Phoenix RC sim. I had a blast with it. I've also learned that they arent very aerobatic. doh!

What would it cost for an entry level gyro copter?

Besides recommending that I look through all the posts here, what would you recommend to a person that wanted to explore this new territory?

Im looking for someone to set me straight, and point me in the right direction for one of these models.

Im not Mr. Lebowski, YOU'RE Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dood! So thats what you'll call me

hi,i had these strange urges as well
so i got a rotorshape we argued alot
at first but when i got it sorted out
it flies great
the C of G is critical on this autogyro
it flies for 8 mins on 3 cell 1000mah
it will loop and sort of roll but only
to the left.
one thing i did learn was to build it with
UHU por glue that flexes when dry, so it
does not go back to a kit after every little
bump.
